| In the process of national economic development,innovative activities have swept around the world,and play a pivotal role in the process of economic development.As the basic unit of economic development-enterprise,innovation plays an important role in the development of enterprises.However,facing the complex external environment,most companies are difficult to innovate without cooperation with others.Therefore,under the condition of fast and changeable market environment,strategic alliance,formed by different entities,has become an important organizational form of innovative activities.In the context of economic globalization,it is very important for the national economy to promote the efficiency of innovation and its strategy of alliance enterprises.In order to deal with the rapid development of the market environment,strategic alliance has become an important way for enterprises to effectively realize innovation behavior.Because of the differences in resources owned by the alliance enterprise,the difference in knowledge and structure makes the alliance enterprise capable of mobilizing other partners to form cooperation.This ability is called alliance power,including(knowledge power,structure power,referent power and guanxi power.Through the use of alliance power,enterprises have a certain impact on the behavioral mode of other alliance members,which improve the ambidextrous innovation of alliance members.Besides,alliance is conducive to the enterprise to better carry out innovation activities.Heterogeneous knowledge and resource flow among alliances can provide good conditions for exploratory innovation and exploitative innovation.Therefore,based on previous researches,this dissertation,this dissertation,drawing from the perspective of power theory,ambidexterity theory and organizational search theory,closely revolves around the basic theoretical problem of "how alliance power affects ambidextrous innovation of enterprises",and establishes a theoretical framework of "alliance power---alliance routines---firm ambidextrous innovation".And the following three sub issues are the main core clues to analyze the research contents:(1)what is the relationship between the alliance power and ambidextrous innovation(exploratory innovation and exploitative innovation)in the alliance between enterprises?(2)What is the influence path between alliance power and ambidextrous innovation?(3)Will boundary-spanning search and boundary-spanning integration have different impacts on alliance routines and ambidextrous innovation mechanisms from the perspective of boundary-spanning innovation?In view of the above three problems,this dissertation uses empirical research and case study to explore the above research content.1.Through systematic collection,sorting and analysis of existing documents,the connotation and essence of relevant concepts are understood,the dimension of alliance power is established,and the research hypothesis and conceptual model between alliance power and ambidextrous innovation are then constructed.We point out that alliance power can not only directly affect ambidextrous innovation.New and utilized innovation can also improve the ambidextrous innovation through the enterprise’s own alliance routines.2.Based on the theoretical model,the paper puts forward the hypothesis concerning the positive relationship between alliance power and ambidextrous innovation.Through the collection of questionnaire data of 330 Chinese enterprises,the paper further uses the structural equation model to test the research hypothesis between alliance power,alliance routines and ambidextrous innovation.The paper also puts forward the initial hypothesis proposition,which points out that alliance power can firmly improve the ambidextrous innovation through the mediation role of alliance routines.3.Based on the above research,the paper introduces two moderators-boundaryspanning search and boundary-spanning integration,and then,from the perspective of boundary-spanning innovation,we deeply investigate whether there are differences in the influence mechanism of boundary-spanning search and boundary-spanning integration on ambidextrous innovation.Through the empirical test of multiple regression analysis,the mediating effect of boundary-spanning search and boundary-spanning integration has been formed which influences the alliance power and ambidextrous innovation.Based on the above research work,the main conclusions of this dissertation are as follows:1.Among the alliance enterprise,the alliance power has a positive influence on the ambidextrous innovation.The four sub dimensions of alliance power: knowledge power,structure power,referent power and guanxi power all have positive influence on ambidextrous innovation.Through the field interview of Chinese enterprises and the questionnaire research of 330 enterprises,this dissertation shows that knowledge power,structure power,referent power and guanxi power all contribute to ambidextrous innovation.Enterprises acquire various resources through knowledge power,structure power,referent power and guanxi power can improve the efficiency of knowledge and resources acquisition and application,minimize the risk of innovation investment and enhance the value creation of enterprises.2.Alliance power positively influences alliance routines and then acts on ambidextrous innovation.Based on the data from 330 enterprises,the paper finds that alliance routines play a complete intermediary role between knowledge power and exploratory innovation;plays a full intermediary role between referent power and exploratory innovation;and plays a partial mediating role between structure power and exploratory innovation;similarly,alliance routines play a partial mediating role between structure power and exploratory innovation.Similarly,alliance routines play a partial mediating role between knowledge power,structure power,referent power,guanxi power and exploitative innovation.3.Based on the perspective of boundary-spanning innovation,this dissertation holds that boundary-spanning search and boundary-spanning integration play an important role in regulating the influence mechanism of alliance routines on ambidextrous innovation.Among them,boundary-spanning search can significantly regulate the relationship between alliance routines and exploratory innovation,and also significantly affect the relationship between alliance routines and exploitative innovation.Boundary-spanning integration plays an important role in regulating the influence mechanism of alliance routines on exploitative innovation,but boundary-spanning integration is not significant between the positive relationship between alliance routines and exploratory innovation.This study integrates alliance power,alliance routines,boundary-spanning search,boundary-spanning integration,exploitative innovation and exploratory innovation into the same research framework.From the perspective of boundary-spanning innovation,this dissertation analyzes the mechanism of alliance power and ambidextrous innovation through the lens of organizational power theory and search theory.In general,the research conclusion of this dissertation deepens the answer of “how alliance power affects ambidextrous innovation of enterprises”.The main contributions are as follows:1.Deconstruct and expand the dimension of power in the context of alliance.The paper opens the black box of “alliance power” and expands the dimension of power in the context of alliance.The concept of alliance power in this study is evolved from the development of organizational power and network power.At present,there is no unified definition and measurement of alliance power in academic research.Based on the alliance background,from the perspective of power alliance power is proposed and deconstructed as knowledge power,structure power,referent power and guanxi power,which contributes to the understanding and academic research(including the measurement and operation)of alliance power in alliance fields.2.Deepen the research on the mechanism of alliance power on ambidextrous innovation Alliance power can make alliance enterprises have more ability to coordinate the contradictions among alliance members and ensure the orderly operation of the alliance.At the same time,the existing scholars also realize that alliance routine is an important source of heterogeneous knowledge,the key to maintain the stability of alliance,and plays an important role in the promotion of enterprise innovation.The structure framework of "alliance power-alliance routines-ambidextrous innovation" is constructed.Enterprises acquire various resources through knowledge power,structure power,referent power and guanxi power in alliance power,improve the efficiency of knowledge and resources acquisition and application,minimize the risk of knowledge investment and improve the value creation results of enterprises.3.Enrich the research on boundary-spanning innovation theory.This study enriches the situational variables on boundary-spanning search and boundary-spanning integration from the perspective of boundary-spanning innovation.Boundary-spanning innovation perspective is the highlight of this dissertation,and boundary-spanning cooperation is among the alliance partners.In order to promote innovation,boundary-spanning innovation needs to be considered and further explored.The paper discusses the influence of boundary-spanning search and boundary-spanning integration on alliance routines and exploratory innovation and exploitative innovation.This is also a further supplement to the mechanism of the alliance power enriching the influence mechanism between“alliance routines and ambidextrous innovation” with boundary-spanning search and boundary-spanning integration as moderators.It further complements the relevant theories of alliance routines and deepens the research of ambidextrous innovation theory.4.Enrich the case study of alliance.We use case study to unpack the mechanism of alliance power on ambidextrous innovation,and the influence mechanism of alliance power on ambidextrous innovation with boundary-spanning search and boundaryspanning integration as moderators.Through the summary of the development status of traditional machinery manufacturing industry and three types of emerging strategic industry,it provides solid research foundation and practical support for further research done by case study. |
