It is a key problem of territiorial space planning research that evolution simulation and optimal allocation of land space.On the one hand,the urban agglomeration is the core area for the intensive use of land space in China,and also a key area for improving the quality of land space utilization.On the other hand,it is also a problem area with extensive use of land space,inefficient use of land,and the imbalance of production space,living space,and ecological space(PLES).Therefore,the study of evolution simulation and optimal allocation of land space has an important strategic significance to improve the quality of land space utilization,promote the coordination and unity of social,economic and ecological benefits,and realize sustainable development.In this dissertation,the core urban agglomeration of Huaihai Economic Zone is taken as a case study.Many kinds of data are collected and used,such as the remote sensing images(RS),geographic information,social and economic statistical data.And the artificial intelligence(AI),mathematical statistics,social investigation,comparative analysis methods are adopted to analyse the PLES distribution pattern,temporal and spatial evolution characteristics,dominant factors and mechanism of this region.Moreover,the dynamic evolution process and future development trend of PLES in this region are simulated.Some main prolbems of PLES development are pointed out and the corresponding solutions are suggested.In final,the optimal allocation plan and realizing ways are proposed to improve the ability of PLES coordinated development in this region.The main conclusions are as follows:1.Based on the analysis of PLES evolution characters by the collected RS data and developed PLES function recognization model,the results show that the some significant changes of PLES function space have taken place in the core urban agglomeration of Huaihai Economic Zone from 1979 to 2019.The obvious changes include the rapid expansion of living space and the sharp decline of ecological space.In term of space distribution,due to the leap-type expansion of living space,a number of scrattered function space has arisen and the shapes are various,which lead to the decrease of regional landscape consistency index.In term of PLES coordinated development,the coupling and coordination index of “living-ecological” space is the lowest,which is at the level of basic coordination.The problem areas are mainly concentrated in Guanyun county and Guannan county of Lianyungang city.Moreover,the problem areas of “living-production” space and “production-ecological” space coordinated development are located in Jining city and north of Zaozhuang city,as well as Luoma Lake of Suqian city,respectively.2.Acoording to the investigation of regional population by proposed population space distribution model,the results show the number of registered population in the core urban agglomeration of the Huaihai Economic Zone is increasing rapidly in the past decades.The average annual growth of population is 444,500 in this area,and the greatest annual growth of population is 1.1 million from 2009 to 2010.In addtion,the space distribution of population is uneven in this region,and the polarization effect is obvious.For example,the population densities of Gulou district and Yunquan district of Xuzhou city are more than 8,500 per square kilometer;however,the population densities of Sihong county and Siyang county of Suqian city are only about 1,500 per square kilometer.Moreover,the simulation experiments show that the public facilities have an important impact on the spatial distribution of urban population,and the different public facilities have different attractions for the urban population.The transportation facilities have more attractions for the urban population than the other facilities(e.g.schools,hospitals,and commercial centers).3.Based on the analysis of PLES evolution process by the constructed macro and micro factors joint decision model,the results show that the micro factors affected the evolution of production and living space more than the macro factors,while the macro factors had more influence on the evolution of ecological space than the micro factors.The main reason is the human ability of transforming living and production space are constantly improving,with the development of society and economy and the progress of science and technology.Thefore,the micro factors(e.g.farmers,entrepreneurs,and residents)have an increasing influence on the evolution of production and living spaces.At the same time,the human awareness of protecting ecological environment is constantly improving.Therefore,the human being has less and less interference in the ecological space evolution,which is decided by some macro factors(e.g.geographic location and natural conditions).4.According to the simulation experiments of PLES opimal allocation by the proposed method of combined non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm and multiagent system,the results show that a number of production and ecological spaces will be transformed into the living space in this region and the sustainable development capacity will be improved slowly,if the PLES is developed freely by 2030.However,the sustainable development capacity of this region will be improved obviously,if the coordinated development of PLES is taken as the optimization goal.The specific ways includes stronging the leading and radiating role of the central city Xuzhou to drive the high-quality development of regional economy;focusing on the building two industrial growth poles(Lianyungang city and Shangqiu city),so as to form a group and cluster development of regional industries;actively building the “Jining-Zaozhuang-XuzhouSuqian” ecological axis,the “Shangqiu-Xuzhou-Lianyungang” production axis,and the“Huaibei-Suzhou-Suqian” living axis.Finally,the sustainable development of social economy and ecological environment of this region will realized by connecting lines with points and bringing areas with lines.
