| Higher vocational education takes the heavy responsibility of training high-quality skilled talents.As a teacher who has worked for 16 years in a national demonstrative higher vocational college,I have personally experienced the evaluation of the level of personnel training,the construction of national demonstrative higher vocational colleges by the Chinese ministry of Education,and took part in the task of preparing for the declaration of Chinese characteristics high-level higher vocational colleges.I also witnessed the three stages of China’s pet industry development from sprouting to breeding to high speed development,so I have deeply felt the lack of excellent skilled talents in Chinese pet industry.Under this background,I used the methods of literature research,questionnaire,interviewing and case analysis.This paper develops along the general train of thought of literature combingTheoretical Construction-Learning from abroad-Standard proposing-Comparative Study-Case Analysis-Lessons learning-The Problem-Talent improving program.In this paper,the research on the training mode of excellent skilled talents for pet specialty in higher vocational colleges was carried out.1.Research on the development of higher vocational education in China and the theoretical construction of talent training modelThe literature review focuses on the three stages that China’s higher vocational education had gone through before the reform and opening up,respectively,industrial schools in the late Qing Dynasty;specialized schools and industrial schools in the period of the Republic of China,and vocational schools in the early period of the People’s Republic of China.After the reform and opening up,the early vocational colleges and five-year higher vocational education,the exploration and development of "double starting point" and "double certificates",the rapid expansion of the scale of running schools and the connotation of improving the quality of running schools are now in the deep water of reform.At present,it is urgent to train a number of professional doctors such as pet doctors and pet groomers with excellent technical level to eliminate the constraints that restrict the development of the pet medical market.It defines the professional skills training mode in higher vocational colleges and other core concepts.This training mode is based on the theory of excellent skilled talents training.It relies on the cooperation of colleges and enterprises,the integration of practice and teaching,the innovation of teaching methods and system guarantee and so on.Excellent Personnel Training Model is the theoretical model and operational paradigm of the talent training process formed around the goal of training excellent technical and skilled personnel.It has the characteristics of taking students as the foundation,emphasizing the craftsman spirit and the cultivation of innovative consciousness,and paying attention to the sustainable development of students.This paper expounds the main theoretical basis of the study,including the determinism of social development,the law of educational development,the theory of serving regional economic development and the theory of comprehensive human development.This paper analyzes the important way to train innovative and entrepreneurial talents,the key link to improve the quality of personnel training,and the key measures to help students develop in the future.2.Study on foreign veterinary vocational talent training modelFive modes were selected,namely,the CBE mode of Canada and the United States,the BETC mode of Britain,the TAFE mode of Australia,the "dual system" mode of Germany and the "teaching factory" mode of Singapore.It gets the conclusion that the five models have the following shining points:Firstly,students-oriented,respect for personalized differences;Secondly,close interaction between colleges,and enterprises,high degree of enterprise participation;Thirdly,curriculum development should be centered on the requirements of Vocational ability,emphasizing practice;Fourthly,the training of key abilities and sustainable development should be emphasized;Fifthly,the construction of teaching staff should be focused and full-time and part-time teachers should work in coordination.In the veterinary high-level personnel training,the United States&the United Kingdom generally pay attention to application,clinical practice,communication skills,teaching methods emphasize the student center,and establish a comprehensive qualification examination system and continuing education system.Summarizing the above experience,combined with China’s national conditions,the talent needs of the pet industry and future development trends,the author puts forward the standards for the training of talents with excellent technical skills in the pet profession in China.3.Comparative study of the pet professional talent training models in ChinaWe selected four representative Higher Vocational Colleges in Jiangsu,Liaoning and Shandong provinces,Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry Jiangsu Agrianimal Husbandry Vocational College,Liaoning Agriculture College,Shandong Vocational Animal Science and Veterinary College,to investigate and study the pet professionals’training mode,and found out the main measures of pet professionals’ training in four higher vocational colleges,including talent training objectives,curriculum design,teaching organization and experimental training forms,teaching measures,and assessment.We mostly selected model called’three-stage progression six-post rotation training’in Jiangsu vocational College of Agriculture and Forestry to analyze.We compare the general training mode of pet specialty with the modern apprenticeship training mode of "three-stage progression six-post rotation training",and find that modern apprenticeship training model is much better than the general training mode on the following performances,including higher grade point,more extra award,higher certificate award rate,higher graduation rate,more stable employment situation.Moreover,degree of satisfaction on education of Alma mater,the degree of specialty approval and the satisfaction of employment status is equally higher than the ordinary class;Ai-Bi class students ’ knowledge and skills,innovative consciousness and competence,communication,responsibility,loyalty and the future potential,the above five specialty areas have been highly recognized by the employers.This paper holds that the reason for the success of the modern apprenticeship talents model called’three-stage progression six-post rotation training’is based on the cooperation between college and Enterprise,the seamlessly integration of practice and teaching.This mode emphasizes students-orientation,emphasizes college and enterprise build training resources together,and teacher-team achieves the platform of mutual training and mutual engagement,college and enterprise jointly plan the two main bodies education mechanism.In the experience section,this paper holds that the reason for the success of the modern apprenticeship talents model called’three-stage progression six-post rotation training’is based on the cooperation between college and Enterprise,the seamlessly integration of practice and teaching.This mode emphasizes students-orientation,emphasizes college and enterprise build training resources together,and teacher-team achieves the platform of mutual training and mutual engagement,college and enterprise jointly plan the two main bodies education mechanism.4.Problems and improvement of pet talent training in ChinaOn the basis of defining the core concepts of the professional skills training model of pet professional in vocational colleges,and referring to the foreign innovation experience,summing up the success or failure of more than ten years of practice in China,the author proposes an improving program for the development of pet professionals.Professional,admission requirements,training targets,training objectives,professional ability,curriculum structure,teaching arrangements,assessment,tuition,graduation conditions,employment and further studies.It is also necessary to break through the following key and difficult issues in the professional training of pet professional skills.Firstly,further deepen the cooperation between practice and teaching;Secondly,the training mode of talent needs to further meet the students’ individual needs;Thirdly,the curriculum system needs to be further optimized and the curriculum content needs to be updated in time;Fourthly,efforts should be further strengthened to train pet professionals with an international perspective;Fifthly,comprehensive management reform needs to be further deepened. |
