Classical poetry scholar of professor Chia-ying Yeh has made important contributions to the research and creation of Chinese classical poetry and the spread of Chinese traditional culture.This thesis focuses on Chia-ying Yeh’s classical poetry theory and creation,aims at summarizing her achievements in these two aspects.In terms of content,this thesis includes six chapters.Approach to Prof.Chia-ying Yeh,explore her triple identity as teacher,scholar and poetess,analyze her educational background,self-cultivation and character,because these are closely related to her classical poetry theory and creation.Understanding Prof.Chia-ying Yeh is helpful for us to better grasp Jialing poetics and Jialing poetry.Prof.Chia-ying Yeh’s classical poetics theory and classical Ci theory are the important research content of this thesis.The method of research is to go back to the original work,that is to find out the repeated poetics and Ci thought from Prof.Chia-ying Yeh’s works,then explore them deeply to reveal their rich theoretical implications.“Inspiring and moving” poetics and “the beauty of passive virtue” Ci theory are the focus of the second and fourth chapters.The basic life of poetry lies in inspiring and moving,this is not only the theory of emergence and creation,but also the theory of reception.“The beauty of passive virtue” Ci theory deepens the theory of the essence of Ci in previous dynasties,and sets an example for the contemporary transformation of traditional Ci theory.Generally speaking,Jialing poetics is broad and profound.Prof.Chia-ying Yeh’s achievements in poetry creation and Ci-qu creation are the research emphasis of this thesis.There are different aesthetic characteristics in Prof.Yeh’s poems and Ci.Jialing poems have lofty beauty because of their ideological content,Jialing Ci have implicit beauty because of their artistry.Prof.Chia-ying Yeh’s creation of classical poetry and Ci-qu is the full application of her theory,Jialing poetry has powerful force of inspiring and moving which is model of contemporary poetry,Jialing Qu is thoughtful which style is distinct.Jialing poetry and Jialing Ci-qu can provide a very useful reference for people’s related creations at present.The focus and innovation of this thesis is to combine Prof.Chia-ying Yeh’s theory of classical poetry with her creation,and to explain and comment on her poems in special chapters,which are mutually reflected with her theory.The thesis also emphatically elucidates Prof.Chia-ying Yeh’s profound influence on the basis of the analysis and demonstration of the first five chapters.Prof.Yeh’s life path,academic works and Jialing poetry have distinct future direction.Jialing poetics integrates cultures at all times and in all over the world into one furnace,establishes a system of classical poetry theory.Jialing poetry is a natural expression of Prof.Chia-ying Yeh’s true feelings and has a permanent artistic charm.Prof.Yeh devote her life to open a window for those who don’t understand poetry,Chinese classical poetry has been loved by more people because of Prof.Yeh and will also have brilliant prospects.This thesis explores and discusses the above several aspects in order to fully elucidate the rich implications and academic value of Prof.Chia-ying Yeh’s classical poetry theory,and the ideological level and aesthetic achievement of Jialing poetry,hoping can lead to further research of Prof.Chia-ying Yeh.
