The Discourse Innovation And The Convergence Of Context Between Cross-Strait

Since the report of the Seventh National Congress of CCP mentioned"community of common destiny" for the first time in 2007,this concept is frequently exploited by Chinese Mainland to state Chinese Mainland's Policy towards Taiwan.Especially after the 18th CCPC,"community of common destiny" gets more attention,not only is commonly used by Chinese Mainland to articulate an overall vision in cross-strait relations,but also is widely exploited in other fields,consequently a batch of new judgements and new ideas have appeared such as "China-Pakistan community of common destiny","Community of Shared Future for Mankind".Such an important concept could be read from the perspectives of politics,society and history.But considering that "community of common destiny" first appears as a political discourse on the original level,the perspective of discourse has a special significance.Surely there are various angles to study discourse such as etymology,punctuation,rhetoric,and this thesis has selected context.That is so not just inspired by Wodak's Discourse-History Approach,Foucault's Genealogy and Malinowski's Contextualism,but considering that there are just few differences of linguistic form between cross-strait.In other words,on the difference of using of"community of common destiny" concept between cross-strait,context not linguistic form is the main difference.Surely the study of context needs appropriate research method such as Systemic Functional Linguistics.As a mature theory of discourse analysis,Systemic Functional Linguistics combines discourse analysis and context study.Therefore it is a great method for study the difference of using of "community of common destiny" concept between cross-strait.So this thesis takes Systemic Functional Linguistics as method,focused on the convergence of context between cross-strait in the view of discourse innovation.It also shows that the special angle and methods are the main innovation in this paper.After a careful study,it is found that "community of common destiny" concept is rich in connotation and has a very wide extension in modern Chinese languages.In using of this concept,Chinese mainland and Taiwan have opposite intention.Chinese mainland intends to strengthen the cultural and emotional bonds between cross-strait and create a context that we people on both sides of the Straits are one family by publicizing this concept.But Taiwan tries to weaken the cultural and emotional bonds between cross-strait and create a context that be to the advantage of "Taiwan independence" by publicizing this concept.Besides some Taiwanese people deliberately misleading public.the main reasons for this is because of unique historical and cultural traditions,psychosocial factors.and the democratization of Taiwan.Therefore the "Cross-Strait community of common destiny" concept is a great practice that Chinese mainland resolves the contextual conflicts and furthers the contextual convergence between cross-strait by discourse innovation from the linguistic view.And it is an important part of Chinese mainland's Propaganda to Taiwan.So in the new situation,surrounding this work we should stick to principle and open our mind in order to tell the Chinese mainland's story and disseminate Chinese mainland's voice well.
