With the deep integration of information technology and education and teaching,"Internet+Education" is building a new teaching form and education form.For this reason,China has actively implemented the "two Thousand Progra".In the three years from 2019 to 2021,the plan will build 10000 national first-class courses and 10000 provincial first-class courses,including 4000 national online courses and 6000 national blended courses.At the same time,a number of provincial and school-level first-class courses will be built.In curriculum construction and teaching practice,blended learning has become one of the current research hotspots.Blended learning leads to the change of teaching and learning style and the change of learners' cognitive style.It urgently requires us to study the learner characteristics of blended learning and to explore its impact on learning effect.On the one hand,it promotes learners' effective learning and improves teachers' teaching strategies;on the other hand,it provides a theoretical basis for adaptive learning system and promotes the sustained and healthy development of blended learning.This study took 1889 sophomores who participated in the blended course of"Modern Educational Technology" in Shaanxi normal University as the research object.This paper explored the influence of college students' learner characteristics on the effect of blended learning,using the mixed research method of quantitative research and qualitative research.The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)Based on the literature review,expert consultation,empirical research and practical experience,this study constructs the blended learner characteristic model DCEVR,which includes five aspects:"demography,cognition,emotion,volition and behavior".The five are interrelated and influence each other.And the key characteristic variables of DCEVR model are determined.(2)On the basis of referring to the relevant research results,this study revised or developed the learner characteristics scale and learning effect scale in blended learning.The learner characteristic scale includes learning strategy scale,metacognition scale,learning style scale,sense of spatial orientation scale,learning attitude scale,learning anxiety scale,learning motivation scale,learning self-efficacy scale and learning behavior scale.And the learning effect scale includes learning satisfaction scale,learning engagement scale and self-evaluation learning effect scale.All the scales have good reliability and validity and are in line with the meaning of metrology,so they are effective tools to measure learners' characteristics and learning effects in blended learning.(3)Based on the questionnaire data,this study uses multiple linear regression to explore the systematic influence of learner characteristics on blended learning academic achievement,self-evaluated learning effect,learning satisfaction,learning engagement and total learning performance.The main findings are as follows:The total learning performance was affected by learning behavior,subject background,learning motivation,learning self-efficacy,computer ability,learning attitude and gender,and the model fitting R2 was 0.619.The academic achievement was significantly affected by subject background,learning behavior,learning strategies,gender,computer ability and metacognition,and the model fitting R2 was 0.300.The self-evaluated learning effect was significantly affected by learning motivation,learning behavior,computer ability,learning self-efficacy and learning strategies,and the model fitting R2 was 0.499.The learning satisfaction was significantly affected by learning behavior,learning self-efficacy,learning motivation,learning attitude,subject background and learning anxiety,and the model fitting R2 is 0.529.The learning engagement was significantly affected by learning behavior,learning motivation,learning self-efficacy,learning strategy,sense of spatial orientation,learning style_information processing dimension,learning attitude,gender and learning anxiety,and the model fitting R2 is 0.757.(4)Based on four eye movement experiments,this study explored the effects of different learning styles(Active/Reflective learners,Sensing/Intuitive learners,Visual/Verbal learners,Sequential/Global learners)on learners' cognitive load,social presence,attention distribution and learning effect of different types of multimedia learning materials(PPT and video,declarative knowledge/procedural knowledge).The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of learner characteristics on blended learning and its mechanism.The main findings are as follows:first,when learning different types of multimedia learning materials,there is no significant difference in the learning effect among the three groups of learners of Sensing/Intuitive learners,Visual/Verbal learners,and Sequential/Global learners.Second,when learning PPT,the effect of active learners is significantly higher than Reflective learners.Third,when learning different types of multimedia learning materials,there are differences in attention distribution,cognitive load and social presence among learners of different learning styles.(5)Based on qualitative research,this study explores the internal mechanism of the influence of learner characteristics on the learning performance in blended learning.The main findings are as follows:firstly,18 different types of learners are found from six perspectives.From the perspective of adaptation to blended learning,it is classified as the adapters of blended learning,the incomplete adapters of blended learning,the conservatives of face to face learning and innovators of online learning;from the perspective of time,it is classified as anticlimactic learners,persistent participants,and final Skitters;from the perspective of learning style,it is classified as concentrated learners,fragmented learners and procrastinators;from the perspective of authenticity of learning behavior,it is classified as deceivers and honest learners;from the perspective of learning initiative,it is classified as active learners,passive learners and both active and passive learners;from the perspective of behavioral interaction,it is classified as active interaction,silent viewer and passive interaction.Secondly,this study found the characteristics of various factors of learner characteristics in blended learning,as well as the influence mechanism of learner characteristics on learning performance.Cognitive factor is the basic role.Emotional factor is the regulatory role.Volition factor is the dynamic role.Behavioral factor is the key role.Demographic factor is the controlling variable and is an important role.The influence of cognitive factors,emotional factors and volition factors on learning performance is shown through behavioral factors,and then affects the learning performance.The intensity of influence on learning effect is as follows:behavioral factor is the largest,will factor is the second,cognitive factor is the third,and emotional factor is the fourth.The internal mechanism of the influence of learners' characteristics on the effect of blended learning is an open and complex system,which is characterized by openness,development,integrity and hierarchy,and it is necessary to pay attention to internal causes and principal contradictions.The innovation of this study has two aspects:on the one hand,the research content is rich.First,this study constructs the blended learner characteristic model DCEVR.Second,based on the questionnaire survey,this study explores the systematic influence of learner characteristics on learning performance in blended learning.Third,based on the eye movement experiment,this study explores the influence of learning style on learning performance in blended learning.Fourth,based on qualitative research,this paper reveals the internal mechanism of the influence of learner characteristics on learning performance in blended learning.On the other hand,the research perspective and research methods are innovative.From a systematic perspective,this study explores the influence and mechanism of learners' characteristics on learning effect in blended learning,using three research methods of questionnaire,eye movement experiment and qualitative research.In a word,the conclusion and theory formed by the combination of quantitative and qualitative,macro and micro,external and internal have a certain degree of innovation.
