The process of learner's learning engagement or student's behavioral,emotional,and cognitive engagement to complete the learning task is called the holy grail of learning.In the 21st century,learning will be increasingly?blended,?combining face-to-face with computer-mediated instruction.Scholars have begun to explore the content of students'learning engagement and its influencing factors?measurement indicators?in the setting of blended learning.However,there is no universally accepted definition of learner's learning engagement;especially in the setting of blended learning the research on learners'engagement in technology-mediated environment has not yet formed a mature and stable theoretical framework to guide research and practice.In a constantly changing learning environment,constructing suitable learner learning engagement models and scales is conducive to measuring the time and energy invested by learners in learning activities and can promote the continuous development of the field of learning engagement.This article first reviews the literature on learners'learning engagement,and summarizes the measurement indicators related to the blended learning setting,especially the structure of the blended learning.Then it proposes a theoretical framework for learner learning engagement in the setting of blended learning and designs a blended engagement questionnaire,and studies the correlation between face-to-face learning engagement and online learning engagement is studied.Quantitative research methods were used to form the scale factor of the blended learning engagement through exploratory analysis,and the proposed blended learning engagement model was verified to have good structural validity through confirmatory analysis.According to research,it is found that face-to-face learning engagement and online learning engagement are related but still different in nature.Behavioral,emotional,and cognitive are the necessary indicators in the blended learning engagement model,which most clearly describes the differences in data.Setting is crucial for students to engagement in a learning activity environment that combines face-to-face and technical media.The blended learning engagement model is helpful for teachers to deep cognition students have different ways of expressing in blended learning settings,and to make personalized teaching decisions based on the differences in learning engagement;help students self-monitor their learning engagement status,exert students'subjective initiative,and maintain continuous learning engagement,so that students can achieve greater results.This study is limited by quantitative research methods and survey samples,and there may be differences or deviations in the measurement results.Future research can adopt a mixed research method and further adjust the scale used in the research and expand the scope of the survey sample,collect sample data in various forms,make up for the lack of research methods and sample scope,and form a more accurate and better blended learning engagement model.The research results can be used as a starting point for research on blended learning engagement.Based on the learning engagement framework and measurement instrument formed in this paper,more in-depth research can be conducted in the study of the relationship between intervention strategies,learning and learning engagement.It allows us to better evaluate which combination of face-to-face and computer media technologies is the real"best of both worlds"and contribute to the research of blended learning engagement.
