Developing human rationality is the basic aim of education.Critical thinking is the key to forming objective rationality and also an important part of innovative thinking.Nowadays education stressesmore importance on humans and the innovation of science and technology,so developing students' critical thinking is an important way to foster students' objective rationality and innovative spirit.Senior high school is the preparation for University learning.Only when critical thinking in senior high schools gets real attention and development can we cultivate innovative talents with critical consciousness and thinking ability.However,according to the existing literature,there are few studies in this field.We believe that the understanding of the current development of critical thinking of senior high school students in China is the basis of changing the educational models and developing students' critical thinking ability.For this reason,this study chooses an empirical study on the critical thinking of senior high school students in China.The research focuses on three aspects: Firstly,what is the current situation of the critical thinking of senior high school students in our country? Secondly,what are the relevant factors affecting the critical thinking of senior high school students in our country? Thirdly,how can we explore practical approaches to strengthen the cultivation of critical thinking of senior high school students in our country?Based on the comprehensive study of critical thinking and the relevant scales at home and abroad,the questionnaire pattern for critical thinking of senior high school students in China was developed.A questionnaire survey was conducted among students from 20 senior high schools in Dalian and Shenyang.6240 questionnaires were sent out,6204 valid questionnaires were collected,and 32 teachers were interviewed from different schools,teaching ages and subjects.270 data tables were formed.The conclusions are as follows:Firstly,at present,the critical thinking tendency of ordinary senior high school students in China is at the medium level,and their critical thinking ability is relatively low.A large number of students are at the weak level.Secondly,among the basic individual characteristics,gender,grade,science and arts learning,schoolmate relationship and academic performance have an impact on the critical thinking of high school students,especially the influence of schoolmate relationship and academic performance.Thirdly,individual school education,such as school management type,school extracurricular activities and teachers' teaching methods,has a significant impact on the critical thinking of high school students.lastly,individual family background,such as place of birth,parents' educational background and parents' occupation characteristics,has an impact on the critical thinking of ordinary high school students.Based on the above conclusions,combined with interviews with teachers and daily observation of researchers,this study has comprehensively analyzed the main factors affecting the critical thinking of senior high school students in China,and put forward practical suggestions to improve the critical thinking consciousness and ability of senior high school students from four aspects: national curriculum reform,individual development of students,improvement of school education and promotion of family education.This paper consists of seven chapters: chapter one introduces the background and significance of the question,the research status at home and abroad,the main content and research methods of this study;The second chapter combs and analyzes the relevant theoretical basis,and puts forward the theoretical framework and research hypothesis of this study.The third chapter makes empirical research design,designs the questionnaire and interview outline,defines the investigation object,determines the influencing factors and variables,and defines the data analysis method.The fourth chapter makes a statistical analysis of the results of the questionnaire and the influencing factors of the students' critical thinking.The fifth chapter,based on data analysis,draws basic conclusions about the critical thinking status and influencing factors of ordinary high school students and analyzes relevant reasons.Chapter six puts forward some practical suggestions for the development of critical thinking in senior high school students.Chapter seven summarizes the innovation,deficiency and prospect of this research.
