Nurtured by Culture is the inherent function and mission of culture.It is also an important field of vision and path for ideological and political work.As an important part of the advanced culture of the society,university culture is the accumulation of material wealth and spiritual wealth formed by a university in the long-term practice of running schools through historical accumulation,its own creation and the influence of the external environment.The values,ideal pursuits,moral sentiments,aesthetic tastes,etc.are the individualized expression and concentrated expression of a country's mainstream ideology and core values in the university.If ideological and political education is to carry out the mainstream ideology education for students,educating people with university culture is to educate and train people in a subtle way,and to create a profound value imprint of the university with students.The methods and approaches are easier for students to accept and recognize.Therefore,taking culture as the starting point,insisting on cultural people,giving play to the educational role of university culture,to promote the establishment and practice of the core values of Chinese socialism of educatees,and constantly improve the level of socialization,individualization and civilization,are of great significance to train socialist builders and successors with all-round development of morality,intelligence,sports and aesthetics.Based on such a logical rationale,this article is guided by Marxist theory.Linking theory with practice,it has the fundamental task of the morality education,regarding the university culture and its education as the research object,and with the purpose of enhancing the effectiveness of the ideological and political education of college students.In-depth research on the educational function of university culture and how to better play this educational function,this article mainly includes the following six aspects:First,it explains the basic problems of educating people with university culture.Emphasis is placed on the concept of culture,the connotation of university culture,the meaning of nurtured by culture and the concept of educating people with university culture.It is proposed that the function of educating people is the ontological function of university culture.As an important part of the advanced culture of the society,university culture has a distinct value orientation and is closely related to ideological and political education.The characteristics of intangibility,permeability,persistence and diversity of educating people with university culture,and the ideological and political education functions such as value identification,behavior orientation,emotional stimulation and spiritual cultivation make it an important part of college students'ideological and political education sight and carrier.Second,it explores the theoretical source of educating people with university culture.There is deep theoretical logic behind educating people with university culture.Tracing back to the source,it is not difficult to find that Marxist cultural views,including Marx and Engels' cultural views,Leninist cultural views and Chinese-style Marxist cultural views,provide a solid theoretical guide for university cultural education.This is also the most fundamental theoretical cornerstone of educating people with university culture in contemporary China.Meanwhile,Chinese traditional cultural thoughts lay the ideological foundation for university culture education.And the organizational culture theory,cultural stratification theory and cultural choice theory in Western cultural theory,provide a theoretical reference for educating people with university culture from different dimensions.Third,it examines the cases and commonalities of educating people in world-class universities in Western countries.World-class universities in Western countries,such as Oxford University and Cambridge University in the United Kingdom,have a history of more than 800 years.Universities such as Harvard University and Yale University in the United States also have gone through more than 300 years of school history,forming a distinctive university culture which plays an important role in educating people.These universities have various advantages,such as advocating academic freedom,following general education,playing the role of principal,paying attention to personal values,inheriting the unity of tradition and innovation,the combination of scientific spirit and human spirit,the coordination of academic power and administrative power,and campus environment and educational resources equal emphasis.These advantages bring a lot of inspiration to Chinese universities and must be learned from criticism.Fourth,it sorts out the historical process and characteristics of educating people with university culture in China.The educational institutions of higher education with thousands of years of history,represented by the Imperial College and academy of classical learning,have accumulated rich experience in educating people with university culture.A group of university presidents who have a thorough knowledge of both western and traditional Chinese cultures in modem universities did a great job in emulating the West and inheriting tradition and formed a educating people with university culture model suitable for that period.It has also accumulated historical connotations for educating people with university culture today.Since the founding of New China,especially since the reform and opening up,the concept of educating people with university culture in China has gradually received attention.The level of university culture construction has been continuously improved,and the ways of educating people with university culture have shown diversified trends.The road of educating people with university culture with Chinese characteristics of socialism has initially taken shape.Fifth,it analyzes the real dilemma of educating people with university culture in contemporary China.The road to educating people with university culture in contemporary Chinese universities can be described as both opportunities and challenges.While seeing achievements and foundations,the real dilemma cannot be ignored.The new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics calls for Chinese universities to assume the historical mission of cultivating new people in the era of national rejuvenation.Under the new situation and the new media environment,the ideological behaviors of college students show new characteristics,making the university face great challenges nurtured by culture.This kind of challenge is reflected in some aspects as such:the concept of educating people with university culture need to be further deepened;the main role of educating people with university culture is not enough;the connotation construction of educating people with university culture is not rich enough;the methods and ways of university culture education need to be further expanded and the mechanism of university culture education needs to be further improved.In order to solve these problems,it is necessary to conduct targeted research on the countermeasures for the development of educating people with university culture.Sixth,it proposes countermeasures to promote educating people with university culture in contemporary China in an all-round way.In view of the problems existing in Chinese university culture education,guided by advanced theories and advanced experience,contemporary Chinese universities must exert their strengths in concepts,subjects,contents,methods,approaches and mechanisms to form a comprehensive and three-dimensional pattern of educating people with university culture.First,we must adhere to the correct concept of educating people with university culture,adhere to Marxism as a guide,further strengthen cultural consciousness and cultural self-confidence,adhere to the people-oriented and cultural unity,achieve the unity of inheritance tradition and innovation,and promote the healthy development of Chinese university culture and the full play of the role of educating people.The second is to strengthen the main body of educating people with university culture and give full play to the role of leaders,teachers,administrators and students in educating people with university culture,and to achieve the unity of "humanization" and "humanization".The third is to enrich the content of educating people with university culture,and promote the further development and deepening of educating people with university spiritual culture,university institutional culture,university material culture and university behavior culture.The fourth is to improve the method of educating people with university culture,and give full play to the role of teaching by precept and example,classic reading,practical experience,and environmental immersion.The fifth is to optimize the various ways of educating people with university culture,and play the role of the main channels of the ideological and political theory courses,general education courses and professional education courses,and effectively enhance the effectiveness of publicity work,campus network culture and multicultural education.The sixth is to further improve educating people with university culture mechanism in terms of organizational leadership,operational support,and effectiveness evaluation.Rational and in-depth research comes from the call of practice.With the deeper attention and research of the university culture,the university culture with Chinese characteristics embodying the core values of Chinese socialism and unique spiritual temperament will grow up and play a greater role in the process of educating people.And it will also lead the human spirit and culture to move towards a healthier direction.
