the leadership of Xi Jinping has paid great attention to the ideological and political education of colleges and universities in the new era,emphasizing the application of new media and new technologies in work,which is related to ideological and political education.The WeChat public platform of colleges and universities,as one of the new mainstream media on campus,it has become the main approach to schools to disseminate information and students to acquire knowledge.Ideological and political educators should be adept at the changing with the things,advancing with the times,new with the situation,and ideological and political educators should firmly grasp the inevitable trend of ideological and political education in the WeChat public platform and actively rely on the fresh carrier and rich form to deeply explore the ideological and political education function of the WeChat public platform in colleges and universities.Furthermore,they should integrate the traditional advantages of ideological and political work with information technology,which could make college ideological and political education alive and show its attractiveness and vitality.In the new era,it is the proper meaning of ideological and political education.Therefore,this article mainly studies on the academic issues,function types,problem causes,standard requirements,practical methods and actual cases about the ideological and political education functions of the WeChat public platform in colleges and universities.The first part of this article is the base of theory.Theoretical analysis is the theoretical basis for supporting theories.This article systematically describes the basic definition,development process,connotation characteristics,ideological and political education,the concept of ideological and political education function,and the meaning of the ideological and political education function of university WeChat public platform.More specifically,it includes Marxist communication theory,indoctrination theory and carrier theory of ideological and political education,acceptance theory,Xi Jinping ’s important expositions on socialism with Chinese promote the great revival of the Chinese nation.The third part of this article is the base of realistic.This part points out the status,problems and causes of the function of ideological and political education in the WeChat public platform of colleges and universities.This article takes 126 college WeChat public platforms in Sichuan province as the survey object,and systematically sorts out the construction status,content construction of the WeChat public platform of colleges and universities.According to the survey,it means to understand the status,positioning introduction,column setting and operation main body,operating personnel,operation push,etc.,to systematically analyze the content construction of ideological and political education and key events of ideological and political education on the WeChat public platform of colleges and universities.The ideological and political education function of the WeChat public platform of colleges and universities has achieved remarkable results,but there are still problems such as insufficient investment in operating forces,weak professional operation push,low quality content,low proportion of ideological and political education content,and lack of ideological and political columns.Its colleges and universities do not agree the ideal about ideological and political education of WeChat public platform operation,and students have insufficient knowledge of that platform.In addition,there is a deviation between the education needs of both sides of the platform.The content and form of ideological and political education pushed by the platform lack innovative transformation and the weakening of mechanism construction also become the main constraint effects for the functioning of ideological and political education.The forth part of this article is measurements and suggestions.From a macro perspective,this article proposes the norms and standards for the ideological and political education of WeChat public platforms in universities.The WeChat public platform of colleges and universities is based on the principle of "educating people","students as the main body",and "interactive communication as the fulcrum".The principle is combined by dominance and intension,education and close,humanity and science,which can observe the value demands of college students,know the value trend of the new era,and adhere to the value position of turmoil.It also promotes realization of educational functions about the ideology and politics with the core purpose of ideal and belief education,red revolutionary culture and excellent Chinese moral education.This article puts forward the practical path of the ideological and political education function of the WeChat public platform of colleges and universities specifically,which requires the joint role of the education subject,education object,education content,education environment and other factors.It is the prerequisites for the realization of the ideological and political education function that the WeChat public platform team in colleges and universities should strengthen the political orientation,strengthen business learning,implement the famous teacher plan,and deepen the construction.It is the key to the realization of the ideological and political education function that the WeChat public platform team in colleges and universities should cultivate students’ new media literacy,tap student opinion leaders,and improve student information identification,stimulate students’ self-education awareness,which can improve students
