The Development Strategy Of China's Sports Diplomacy In The New Era

As an important part of diplomacy,sports diplomacy has always played an important role in the historical process of the growth and development of China.Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has brought China's sports to a brand-new level,especially in sports foreign exchanges,actively carrying out international exchanges of sports culture,conveying Chinese sports voice to the world,telling Chinese sports stories well,and constantly enhancing international influence.Under the new era background,especially during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period,China will enter a new development stage,putting forward new and higher requirements for the development of China's sports diplomacy,and at the same time face more tasks and challenges.It is urgent to focus on serving the country's overall diplomacy,implement sports diplomacy strategies,contribute sports strength in accelerating the construction of a sports power and realizing the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,and play a greater role in the process of globalization and in promoting world peace and development.Therefore,new sports diplomacy development strategies are extremely essential for China's sports diplomacy theory and practice.This paper holds that the research on the development strategy of sports diplomacy in the new era is based on the needs of the development of the new era,the diplomacy of a big country with Chinese characteristics,the development of public diplomacy,the construction of a strong sports country,and the transformation and development of sports undertakings under the influence of COVID-19 epidemic,which is of considerable,importance,necessity,urgency and arduousness.In this paper,literature review,expert interview and historical analysis are used as the main research methods,and the development strategy of sports diplomacy in the new era is taken as the research object.Based on reviewing the relevant research at home and abroad and making clear the achievements and shortcomings of those studies,the researchers explore the development strategy of sports diplomacy in the new era.First of all,this paper analysis the historical evolution of China's sports diplomacy,and summarizes the historical achievements and experiences of China's sports diplomacy,including serving the national interests;coordinating the two major domestic and international situations,actively expanding international space,and be good at seizing strategic opportunities;actively carrying out sports diplomacy activities with various countries without setting affinity by ideology;actively joining international sports organizations to improve China's sports international discourse power;promoting the transformation of Chinese sports foreign aid from "free aid" to "paid cooperation".Secondly,it sorts out the sports diplomacy history of the United States,Japan,France and Australia and summarizes the successful experiences of each country in order to provide an overseas mirror for the development of China's sports diplomacy in the new era,including toplevel design of sports diplomacy should be carried out from the national level;examing the development of sports diplomacy from the perspective of public diplomacy;using the platform of large-scale international sports events to carry out a series of sports diplomacy activities;making full use of the resources of domestic sports stars to carry out sports diplomacy activities;attaching importance to sports diplomatic talents to improve our own sports international discourse power;paying attention to international media communication in sports diplomacy activities and guidance of international public opinion;improving the quality of Chinese nationals;enhancing the international sports strength and gaining wide recognition in the world.Lastly,based on combing the historical experience of China's sports diplomacy and mirroring the foreign sports diplomacy,this paper further clarifies the requirements of China's sports diplomacy in the new era,looks forward to the development strategy of China's sports diplomacy,and puts forward the development strategy of sports diplomacy in the new era from six aspects:the foundation,goal,scope,subject,object and manner,to form a new situation in the development of sports diplomacy in the new era,giving full play to the great role of sports diplomacy and better serving the national interests.
