| Sports is "an international language without communication barriers." As an "international language" that is highly praised by people all over the world,sports exchange has become an effective way for people of all countries to understand,know about,and learn from each other.With the continuous development of public diplomacy,as an important part of public diplomacy,sports diplomacy has become more and more important.The development of the sports diplomacy of New China has been deeply made important contributions to China's diplomacy.Public diplomacy has reached a national strategic height in China.China's sports diplomacy will play an increasingly important role with its unique features.Therefore,the function study of China's sports diplomacy is of great significance both in terms of theory and practice.Based on the theoretical perspective of public diplomacy,through reviewing the historical evolution of the sports diplomacy of the People's Republic of China,the study concludes that China's sports diplomacy is able to realize national interests,uphold state image and improve international discourse rights.Next,the study selects the target concept,available resources development,and organizational system construction,the three components of China's sports diplomacy development mode,as the analytical framework for action mechanism of China's sports diplomacy,and correspondingly analyzes the planning mechanism,integration mechanism liaison mechanism in which China's sports diplomacy exerts its functions.The above three mechanisms are then demonstrated in conjunction with the typical case of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.In conclusion,by relying on the healthy operation of the planning,integration,and liaison mechanisms of China's sports diplomacy can China's sports diplomacy effectively exert its function of realizing national interests,upholding the country's image,and enhancing international discourse rights. |
