This research was mainly based on the author’s professional thinking on the prosperity of education and learning for the elderly,and chose the "Sense of Gain" that people are very familiar with and closely related to subjective feelings as the research perspective,and took the elderly learners in Shanghai as the research object,aiming to fully present the main content of "the value of learning for the elderly".It is hoped that through the whole research,on the one hand,it can further stimulate the enthusiasm of the elderly to learn,on the other hand,it can promote the continuous improvement of the elderly education practice.Before the formal research activities,this research conducted an in-depth analysis of the main connotation and characteristics of "value".As a result,the analysis pattern of the whole article was clarified.On this basis,through self-developed interview outlines and questionnaires,this research not only conducted in-depth interviews with 60 elderly learners and 5 teaching staff and administrators in the field of education for the elderly,but also conducted a questionnaire survey on 3113 elderly learners.Combining the results of interview surveys and questionnaire surveys,a structure that helps to present the "the value of learning for the elderly" was constructed,and finally solved the two main research questions of this paper— "What is the meaning of the value of learning for the elderly" and "What is the performance of the value of learning for the elderly".That is to say:On the one hand,follow the analysis of the concept of "value",it is clear that "the value of learning for the elderly" is largely similar to "the role,meaning,utility,function,efficacy,and purpose of learning for the elderly" in ordinary context.On the other hand,through in-depth analysis of the corresponding information,this research found that "the value of learning for the elderly" maybe consists of "the Material Value" and "the Spiritual Value".Among them,"the Material Value" mainly includes "the Physiological Value " and "the Economic Value",which can be demonstrated through "Sense of Health" and "Sense of Security" respectively."the Spiritual Value" mainly includes "the Cognitive Value" "the Moral Value" and "the Aesthetic Value".Specifically,"the Cognitive Value" can be explained through "Sense of Adaptation" "Sense of Efficacy" and "Sense of Wisdom","the Moral Value" can be described through "Sense of Responsibility" and "Sense of Feelings",and "the Aesthetic Value" can be clarified by "Sense of Elegance".In addition,this research also found that "the value of learning for the elderly" will diffuse and overflow on the basis of "the Material Value" and "the Spiritual Value",this performance of "the value of learning for the elderly" is called "the Spillover Value" in this article,and mainly presented through the changes in the understanding of the behavior of the elderly learning,as well as the improvement of the elderly education practice.Finally,based on the analysis of "the value of learning for the elderly",this research confirmed its authenticity and tentatively revealed its main characteristics from a theoretical level.The whole study,took the "Sense of Gain" as the research perspective,thus found a new effective path to discover and analyze "the value of learning for the elderly",interpreted the main connotation and characteristics of "value",thereby promoting the analysis process to become more reasonable,answered two main research questions,and then unveiled the mystery of "the value of learning for the elderly",refined the main characteristics of "the value of learning for the elderly",hence we manifested its inherent,specific,and even enduring essential characteristics.Finally,the research expects that future related research can continue to be strengthened and deepened in terms of research intensity,research horizons,research perspectives,research content,etc.,so as to promote "the value of learning for the elderly" to be more powerfully and comprehensively demonstrated. |
