The Mechanism Of Entrepreneurial Network Formation From The Perspective Of Resource

Abstract:Entrepreneurial network is in essence an optimal resource allocation means under the situation of insufficient resources. Present researches have shown that a big number of individual entrepreneurs can build the communication channels of entrepreneurship, material capital, human power capital and social capital through the re-combination of factors within internal ability and external networks under the impetus of survival, resource insufficiency and innovation push, so they can make full use of factors, and reduce the uncertainty in entrepreneurship, as well as enhance the complimentary channels for weak resources.From the perspective of resource, present researches have noticed that individual social capital is also another kind of resource carrier, and has the similar feature in resource implementation as that of entrepreneurial network. This thesis focuses on these two resource carriers, and deeply discusses their relations. This thesis thinks entrepreneurial network is formed under the impetus of social capital and the guidance of dynamic resource matching ability, and with the aim to compliment their resources insufficiency. Based on the research clue above, the research content are included as followings:To refine the themes of this research by literature review. First, this thesis concluded the internal resource feature from entrepreneurial behavior; then, the resource carrier function of social capital was discussed, so this thesis found that social capital can potentially provide resource for entrepreneurship; based on above, and with the consideration of entrepreneurial decision feature, this thesis refined the significance of resource on entrepreneurship; and last, this thesis discussed the traditional research on entrepreneurial network, and got insight into network function mechanism, stressed the resource significance of entrepreneurial network, so as to put forward3themes of this thesis:individual social capital, dynamic resource matching ability and entrepreneurial network formation.To focus on theoretical research of relations among individual social capital, dynamic resource matching ability and entrepreneurial network. With the theoretical backgrounds of social network, entrepreneurial resource capability, this thesis builds the dimensions of3themes, constructs entrepreneurial choice equilibrium model to explain the rational of social capital's effects on entrepreneurial resource decision, and constructs the non linear polya process to explain resource ability and entrepreneurial network formation; Furthermore, a case of entrepreneurial network is introduced to demonstrate the formation process and general structure under the effect of dynamic resource matching ability. Based on theoretical discussion above, this thesis builds the theoretical model containing of individual social capital, dynamic resource matching ability and entrepreneurial network formation.To empirically study and to give management suggestions. First, using regression analysis method, this thesis testifies the theoretical model, and comparing the empirical results with original theory hypotheses, and for the hypotheses which can't be testifies, this thesis gives probable reasons; then, giving management and policy suggestions from the perspectives of individual social capital building, dynamic resource matching ability fostering, and entrepreneurial network forming, etc.From perspective of resource, this thesis builds the dimensions of3themes. For individual social capital,3dimensions are capital deepness, capital wideness and capital heterogeneity. For dynamic resource matching ability,2dimensions are brokerage ability and standardization ability. As for entrepreneurial network, team-based network, community-based network, clique-based network and cluster-based network are categorized. With equilibrium model and polya process model, the relations of3themes are discussed, so it is probable to distinguish the resource carrying difference of individual social capital and entrepreneurial network, which provides new clue to explain the formation of entrepreneurial network from resource perspective.The empirical study is based on detailed data, and testifies the positive effects of individual social capital on dynamic resource matching ability. As for dynamic resource matching ability on entrepreneurial network, it is partly testified. As for individual social capital on entrepreneurial network formation, it is also partly testified. As for "dynamic resource matching ability has mediating effect on individual social capital and entrepreneurial network formation", the result shows that it can be partly testified.
