Cmmunity Awareness Produced In Space:Study On Community Culture Of Sunjing In Hongta District

In the village,community awareness is the mutual thinking pattern,emotional pattern and inclination shared by all villagers.Thus,the existence and the development of the community awareness in villages is of great significance.Analyzing the spatial carrier of the community awareness in villages as well as the methods to generate the village community awareness will help us to not only understand the importance of the rural revitalization and its development from the holistic view of both economic and non-economic factors,but also enhance the cognition about the theoretical connotation of the small-scale peasant cultural production.Sunjing community,as a "Star Village" in Hongta district of Yuxi city,has witnessed the coexistence of the decentralized development of the traditional agricultural production and the collective development of the non-agricultural economy.The "separation" and "integration",even seemingly contradictory and conflicting,have become the main content of the economic development of Sunjing.But it seems that the“contradiction” did not hinder Sunjing’s development as a village community.When it comes to the underlying reason,it is not just a simple economic issue,but also the production of Sunjing’s deep social relations and cultural factors.Sunjing’s economy is not independent,but "embedded" in its social culture.Its economic development is reflected in social and cultural development.To understand the phenomenon of "separation" and "combination" of Sunjing’s economy,it is necessary to deeply understand the operation logic of Sunjing’s social culture.The decentralization of the traditional agricultural production is caused by the development of family economy.This "separation" is actually the embodiment of the individual and private social relations embedded in it.With the development of individual economy and private economy,Sunjing’s economic development is even more fragmented.This kind of "separation" is caused by the "dis-embedded" community development of the individual economy with the purpose of pursuing profit market.In order to stop the "disembodied" inclination,the community will carry out a "self-protection movement" to prevent the disintegration of the community.In fact,the "self-protection movement" of the community exists with the formation and development of the community,and plays an important role in maintaining the existence and development of the community.Community "self-protection movement" is actually from the culture in the face of the polymerization,Coordination defuses the risk of community disintegration caused by social contradictions and interest conflicts.The development of the community aggregation is through to the community construction and development of the social network,from the micro level of medium measure individual villages and macro level of the community,to guide the villagers personal relations embedded village community network of social relations.However,the construction and development of social relations network cannot be separated from the existence and production of space.As a carrier of social relations,space is an important field for cultural convergence of villagers.The "self-protection movement" of Sunjing community is undertaken through the construction of collective and public social network in spaces like well area,ancestral hall,village temple,guest hall and public house.Within the space of the well,no matter it is the "well" in daily life,the "well" as a place name or a spiritual and cultural symbol,It has been constantly shaping the life relationship of the community;In the space of the ancestral hall,the villagers constantly condense the blood lineage of the community by offering sacrifices to the common ancestors of the village;In the space of the village temple,the villagers,through the common worship of folk beliefs,constantly aggregate the geographical relationship of the community;In the space of the guest hall,the villagers continuously strengthen the social relationship through the integration of the relationship within the village and the communication between the villages;In the public housing space,the villagers continuously construct the political relations through the specific village governance space,the villagers’ consensus space and the collective action space.In essence,the formation of these relations is the concrete embodiment of community reciprocity and collectivity.These Spaces production of social relations network,through the general conduct discipline consciousness,maintaining the solidarity of village community,this process is also a small cultural production process.Gradually,the village community awareness is formed,which promotes the unity of could become a village community.The consciousness of village community in the process of maintaining the existence of rural community is also the traditional cultural basis of maintaining the village community under the condition of market economy.This has a strong practical significance for the current rural community to further implement the rural revitalization and promote the integrated development of villages.Moreover,the concept of small-scale peasant cultural production proposed in this dissertation,as well as the interpretation and development of Polanyi social "self-protection movement" theory at the community level,are undoubtedly of theoretical innovation.This paper holds that the reason why a community is a community is that there is always a "self-protection movement" in the community,which is a concrete explanation and further development of the theory of "self-protection movement" in Polanyi society at the community level.Moreover,when applying Granovetter’s understanding of "embeddedness",this paper interprets space production,which Granovetter did not pay attention to,as the construction of social relation network,thus providing a new theoretical tool for understanding social network in concrete social analysis.These are undoubtedly theoretical innovations.
