The Book of Songs is China’s first collection of poetry,an important classic of excellent traditional Chinese culture,containing rich moral education ideas.These moral education ideas reflect the value orientation,moral norms,ideological style,and behavioral characteristics of the Chinese nation,and are important cultural genes of the Chinese nation.The moral concepts,humanistic spirit,and aesthetic philosophy in the moral education thought of the Book of Songs are important sources of cultivating socialist core values.The ultimate goal of the moral education thought of the Book of Songs is to shape a harmonious and unified perfect personality,integrate personal cultivation,social harmony,and natural perception,and pursue a life realm of harmony between heaven and man.It is a treasure of excellent traditional Chinese culture.Critically inheriting and promoting the essence of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs can provide useful reference for enriching and developing the theoretical system of modern moral education.This article mainly conducts research through five aspects.One is to trace the origin and sort out the theoretical origins and historical background of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs.The second is to summarize the main content of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs.This article systematically discusses and summarizes five aspects: political education based on morality,orderly and harmonious ethical education,moral education based on the character of a gentleman,emotional education based on unity and cohesion,ecological education based on the unity of heaven and man,and aesthetic education based on morality and beauty.The third is to explain the characteristics and functions of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs.The moral education thought in the Book of Songs is to regulate and constrain people’s behavior through etiquette,to influence and cultivate people’s hearts through music,and to guide various social classes to handle the relationship between people,society,and nature according to the norms and principles of etiquette and music,thus forming a harmonious and stable social order.The Book of Songs has educational functions such as cultivating character,changing customs,maintaining social harmony,and cultivating the character of a gentleman.The fourth is the practical path of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs.There are mainly practical paths that constrain education,practical paths of empathy,and practical paths of self-cultivation.The practical path of moral education in the Book of Songs emphasizes not only external moral constraints,but also artistic aesthetics and emotional experience.The fifth is the evaluation and modern inspiration of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs.The Book of Songs is the crystallization of ancient Chinese culture and the sublimation of art,with extremely rich moral and cultural connotations.In the process of historical development,we need to dialectically view the shining points and limitations of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs.Abandoning the concept of hierarchy advocated in the Book of Songs is a backward ideology and moral emotion that goes against the progress of human civilization,reflecting the limitations of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs.At the same time,it is necessary to deeply explore the era value of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs,and provide beneficial references for the innovative development of modern moral education.The moral education thought in the Book of Songs reflects the poetic pursuit and poetic interpretation contained in traditional Chinese culture,and the moral education thought in the Book of Songs has distinct national characteristics.As the classic of Chinese culture,the Book of Songs should absorb its essence and make the past serve the present.With a high degree of cultural consciousness,adhering to the theoretical support and guidance method of Marxism,discovering the value of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs,achieving creative transformation and innovative development of the moral education thought in the Book of Songs,based on China’s actual and contemporary social development needs,integrating elements of the times,activating the moral education thought in the Book of Songs,making it more contemporary and distinctive,Form values and ethical and moral norms that adapt to the development of the times and have Chinese characteristics.
