A Study On The Scientific Research Motivation Of Academic Doctoral Students In Local Universities

The power of scientific research is the engine and energy source of scientific research,which plays an important role in promoting academic development and maintaining the vitality of scientific and technological innovation.Academic doctoral education is the highest stage of higher education,its core goal is to cultivate high-level academic talents for universities,research institutes and other institutions.As the reserve force of national academic development and scientific and technological innovation,the scientific research motivation level of academic doctoral students affects the current and even future scientific research level of China to a great extent.Nowadays,the problems of heavy research tasks,great research pressure,lack of confidence in research,the sense of research burnout and the psychology of research escape have become the difficult problems for academic doctoral students.Especially in local colleges and universities,the problems of academic doctoral students’ own research enthusiasm is not high,the lack of research initiative,the lack of independent research and innovation ability are common,so that their internal research motivation has not been formed,the dilemma of academic life development is difficult to improve,and the quality of education is difficult to break through.Scientific research is not only the impetus for the development of academic doctoral students and their education,but also driven by the impetus itself.In order to solve the above problems,we must solve the research motivation of academic doctoral.For academic doctoral students,real research motivation means an educational responsibility and obligation.If academic doctoral students lack motivation for scientific research and regard scientific research as a task and burden,no amount of institutional constraints and incentive mechanisms can induce their enthusiasm,ideals and responsibilities for scientific research.In view of this,it is of great theoretical value and practical significance to analyze the actual situation and influencing factors of the research motivation of academic doctoral students in local universities.From the perspective of previous studies,the research on the scientific research motivation of academic doctoral students in local universities is relatively scattered and not systematic,and there is a lack of systematic sorting of the actual situation a nd influencing factors of the scientific research motivation of academic doctoral students.Based on this,this study focuses on the research motivation of academic doctoral students in local colleges and universities,and constructs a theoretical model of the research motivation of academic doctoral students in local colleges and universities by comprehensively using grounded theory research method,interview method,questionnaire survey method,participatory observation method and other qualitative and quantitative research methods.Empirical investigation on a large scale application of the model,understand the current local university academic doctoral research dynamic status,to examine the question of reality in their scientific research power,analyzes its causes,and put forward strategy,a comprehensive understanding for local university academic doctoral research power structure,improve its scientific research power level,further improving the quality of doctoral education is the key.This study mainly includes the following five parts.The first part is the construction of the theoretical model of research motivation for academic doctoral students in local universities.This paper mainly uses grounded theory research method to construct a theoretical model of research motivation for academic doctoral students in local universities,which is divided into four parts from outside to inside: external environment drive,scientific research efficiency drive,emotion drive and value belief drive.Among them,the external environment is the external driving form of scientific research motivation,is the external force of the formation of scientific research motivation;The research efficiency drive and the emotion emotion drive are in the middle layer,which are the link and bridge in the formation process of the research power.The value belief drive is the endogenous driving force of the formation of the scientific research motivation of academic doctoral students,which lies in the core layer.The above four aspects interact and blend together to construct the theoretical model of the research motivation of academic doctoral students in local universities.The second part,the local university academic doctoral research motivation theory model test.Firstly,the results of original data richness test show that the main categories,categories and concepts in the theoretical model of scientific research motivation are all supported by abundant original data.Secondly,the results of concept systematic test show that the concepts and categories in the theoretical model of scientific research motivation form a system whole with internal logical relationship;Thirdly,the theoretical test results show that the concepts in the theoretical model of scientific research motivation have sufficient ductility;Finally,applied inspection stage mainly have constructed the theory about the power of scientific research model is developed on the basis of the key elements,after test,modify,perfect formation of the local university academic doctoral research dynamic investigation questionnaire,using the questionnaire on a large scale empirical investigation,the survey results are structural equation model test,the test results show that the The theoretical model of scientific research power has a good fit with the data collected from actual sampling,and the model has a certain value of application and promotion.The third part,the current situation investigation and problem survey of the research motivation of academic doctoral students in local universities.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 786 academic doctoral students in local universities in China to learn the overall situation of research motivation of academic doctoral students in local universities and the difference of research motivation of different demographic variables.Comprehensive analysis of the original interview data obtained from grounded theory and the results of the questionnaire found that the current research motivation problems of academic doctoral students in local universities include: utilitarian research tendency is prominent;Excessive reliance on material incentives;Scientific research efficacy is generally low;Lack of scientific achievement;Scientific research consciousness has not yet formed.The fourth part,the attribution analysis of the research motivation of academic doctoral students in local universities.In view of the research motivation problems of academic doctoral students in local universities,combined with the survey results of the second and third parts of the questionnaire and the original interview data in grounded theory research,this paper analyzes the causes of the research motivation problems of academic doctoral students in local universities mainly includes four aspects: First,the scientific research evaluation system of doctoral students is not reasonable,mainly manifested as the "symbol worship" of evaluation indicators,the "absence of responsibility" of evaluation subjects and the "degree correlation" of evaluation results.Second,the scientific research guarantee mechanism is not perfect,mainly manifested as lack of resource platform,loose organization management and weak academic atmosphere;Third,the general lack of interest in scientific resea rch;Fourth,the sense of scientific research needs to be improved.The fifth part,the promotion strategy of research motivation for academic doctoral students in local universities.In view of the problems and causes of the research motivation of the academic doctoral students in local universities,the corresponding promotion strategies are put forward,including: first,reform the doctoral thesis publishing system,construct a flexible scientific research evaluation system: evaluation indicators from single to multiple;The subject of evaluation changes from periodical to tutor and training unit;Evaluation orientation from "elimination" to "incentive".Secondly,establish and improve the scientific research guarantee mechanism to create an academic atmosphere full of humanistic care:construct a scientific research resource platform of "explicit and implicit integration";Establish professional and flexible scientific research management system;Create a strong and free academic atmosphere.Thirdly,the cultivation of doctoral students’ scientific research "emancipate interest" : adhere to the "rational research",encourage doctoral students to carry out "reflective practice";Encourage doctoral students to choose independently to improve the subjective efficacy;Promote internal and external two-way synergy,enrich positive emotional experience of scientific research.Finally,based on the "dual subjects" of supervisors and local universities,the research identity of doctoral students can be effectively improved.Continue to carry out research identity education throughout the whole stage of doctoral training;Actively build doctoral "academic community".
