| With the deepening of economic development and transformation and the rapid development of knowledge economy and information technology, the traditional single urban spatial structure has become increasingly weak in participating in international and domestic division of labor and competition, and urban agglomerations have gradually become the main spatial form of regional production factor allocation. However,in reality, there are still many problems in the development of urban agglomerations in our country, such as uncoordinated development and upgrading, solidification of gradient levels within urban agglomerations, and a widening gap between core and peripheral cities, which seriously hinders the healthy and sustainable development of urban agglomerations. Therefore,it is necessary to timely shift the traditional urban agglomeration from the "material growth pole" that focuses on material production to the "knowledge growth pole" that focuses on knowledge production and technological innovation, and from the "factor-driven" and the "investment-driven" path turns to a new "innovation-driven" path that relies on human capital and its derived new knowledge, new technologies and other endogenous power. In this process, how to better play the role of human capital in the development of urban agglomerations and realize the optimal spatial allocation of human capital in urban agglomerations has become a problem that the academic community and the government need to seriously consider and solve.Based on this, this paper firstly analyzes the development status and spatial pattern of China’s major urban agglomerations, analyzes the characteristics of China’s urban agglomerations, the proportion of the national economy, and the human capital stock of major urban agglomerations, and uses the surfer three-dimensional map to display China’s human capital.Spatial distribution, spatial pattern correlation and evolution of investment urban agglomerations.Secondly,on the basis of the "core-periphery" model of new economic geography,a model for the evolution of the spatial pattern of urban agglomerations based on human capital is constructed, and the spatial configuration of human capital elements affects the spatial pattern of urban agglomerations from the two dimensions of human capital spatial agglomeration and spillover.According to the formation mechanism and interaction mechanism of human capital,it is concluded that the circular accumulation of the spatial agglomeration effect of human capital is the main reason for the formation and strengthening of the asymmetric structure, and the contrast and dynamic changes of agglomeration and spillover effects are the deep-seated factors for the evolution of different spatial structures of urban agglomerations.Thirdly,on the basis of theoretical analysis, the spatial agglomeration and spillover effects of human capital in the process of spatial evolution of major urban agglomerations in China are tested empirically through spatial econometrics. Finally, the paper uses computer agent modeling to simulate the trend of human capital spatial allocation and the evolution of urban agglomeration pattern, analyzes two ways that human capital affects the spatial pattern of urban agglomeration, and provides model selection and policy suggestions for China’s future urban agglomeration. The research finds, first, the formation mechanism of the spatial pattern of urban agglomerations is the relationship of "spatial agglomeration of human capital → reduction of production cost of human capital →agglomeration center → reduction of per capita income of human capital → spatial overflow of human capital → development of peripheral cities".Second, the empirical analysis of major urban agglomerations in China shows that the spatial allocation of human capital has a significant effect on the pattern of urban agglomerations, but the agglomeration and spillover effects are different in different urban agglomerations,in different directions, and from the analysis of control variables, most of the urban agglomeration financial expenditure, financial development and technological investment have an impact on the urban agglomeration pattern.Third,as the leading factor in the evolution of the spatial structure of urban agglomerations, human capital has changed the growth mode of the regional economy.Through the spatial agglomeration and spillover mechanism of human capital in the development process of urban agglomerations, the overall innovation ability of urban agglomerations has been improved, thereby changing the the evolution model and path of the urban agglomeration. On the basis of the above research, this paper puts forward policy suggestions that by improving the level of human capital to enhance the collaborative innovation development ability of urban agglomerations from the aspects of increasing the internal human capital investment and improving the innovation environment of urban agglomerations. |
