Research On Provincial Management System Of Road Based On GIS

Road management level is far behind road construction speed, which affects road running efficiency and service level. It's absolutely necessary to develop road management information system based on GIS.This paper goes deep into theory on GIS spatial database, considering needs of road management database, discusses techniques of relational database ORACLE 9i, on the base of it, analyzes techniques of acquirsion, organization and management of road spatial data. This paper builds road management database using spatial data level organization techniques and management techniques of entity-rational database. After investigating needs of road management information system, combined with latest GIS techniques, this paper designs system function modules and system framework. Based on the prepared works listed above, this paper builds Zhejiang road management system.As the result, it's feasible and dependable to take Oracle 9i as the database management platform, Mapinfo Professional as the road spatial data input platform and MapXtreme as the web issue tool. Meanwhile, road GIS turns traditional map and other road spatial information into digital ones, permit user, with a new method, operate and show road geographic information, which improve road managing efficiency and service ability greatly.
