Massive geospatial database management has already become a bottleneck which has restricted GIS technical development, and is one of the important front subjects of current geographic information science research. Traditional GIS has no longer met the variable needs of managing massive geospatial data because of its shortcomings in geospatial data model, spatial data managing mode, etc. In this paper, the author tries to explore the available methods of massive geospatial data efficient management based on massive geospatial data management in land resource survey. Concretely, the paper includes the following four aspects:(1)The author analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of existing geospatial data models and designs massive geospatial data model independently adopting the idea of space-time integrating on the basis of object-oriented geospatial data model Geodatabase, using expanding methods of spatial-temporal data model of base state with amendments for reference.(2)The author analyzes related technics of massive geospatial data management in-deepth, including massive spatial data integrating management, raster and vector integrating storage, seamless integration of multi-source spatial data, spatial database engine, multi-expression of spatial data, and other key technics.(3)To meet the needs of constructing provincial land updated survey database, the author raised the overall program of designing the database based on the basic principle of designing land-use database, and then detailedly designs its logical structure, physical structure and mode of data storing, indexing, processing and integrating, moreover, discusses the critical technics which is adopted to achieve the design.(4)The author applies above theory of technics and method of design to land resource survey, and introduces the application in Zhejiang provincial land-use updated survey results-based management system.Practice shows that, the technics of massive geospatial data management discussed in this paper raises the level of managing massive geospatial database in a sense and can store, organize and manage massive geospatial data more efficiently.
