The Research And Realization Of Urban-Planning Database Management System Based On ArcEngine

As a combination of Geographic Information System and Urban Planning, UP-DBMS (Urban Planning Database Management System) has provided quick and effective ways of obtaining and managing the information and materials in Urban Planning. In the Paper, an Urban Planning Database Management System is put forward, based on the analysis of Urban Planning characteristics.At first, the paper expatiates urban planning and related conception, analyses content and characteristics of urban planning management works. Secondly, the technology of UGIS,Spatial Database and ComGIS are introduced respectively, especially the principium and methods of ArcSDE and ComGIS. Secondly, combine with large-scale relation database Oracle 9i , this paper researches the design and implementation methods of Urban Planning Database Management System, and emphasizes the implementation of subsystem of Decision-Making Supprting. Finally, UP-DBMS based on ArcEngine has been applied to city planning department of XiangTan, meet the demands of city planning managerment, and achieved satisfactory results.The Practice shows that UP-DBMS based on ArcEngine makes the integrative storage of spatial data and attribute data, meets the demands of most urban planning manager, has lots of quality of agility. Using of ArcEngine technology, combine with Spatial Data Engine and ComGIS develop UP-DBMS is feasible. The author makes attempts on applying ArcEngine to develop UP-DBMS, which could provide the references for the further related research in the future.
