City out-going route inquiry system of Shenyang is a result of the combinationof road traffic and GIS. This system aims to resolve the problem of not being ableto find a best route and only depending on a paper map. The realization of Shenayngout-going route inquiry can provide reasonable routes of outgoing for Shengyangout goers by bus or Self-driving, thus shortening the out-going time and releasetraffic expression. This system has been developed into an route inquiry system open to all theout-goers in Shenyang on the basis of deeply research and analysis of the charactersand advantages of components and GIS component developing, adopting ArcEngine9.2component library, using currently popular spatial data engine, ArcSDE, takingusage of Visual Studio2005as developing environment and C#as developinglanguage. This system not only realizes those basic functions, such as zoom in, zoomout, freely panning, full extent view, previous view, next view, feature selection, distance measurement, commonly used editor functions, eagle eye and layer control, etc, but also provides six modules, namely, file functioning module, viewfunctioning module, public traffic route inquiry module, self-driving routeinquiry module, spatial analyzing module and help module. Through the realizationof these modules, people can enquiry on bus stations, public traffic routes, publictraffic exchange and best routes, etc, and plans a reasonable out-going route forusers at the same time by this system. The developing of this system is a process of deeper understanding and knowingon GIS component developing and ArcEndgine components, a research on spatialdatabase engine and the storing mechanism of huge relational database, SQL Server2005, and a beneficial exploration on component GIS developing.
