With the development of Internet technology,Web technology expands the GIS functions,which gives birth to the WebGIS technology.Based on the platform of Internet,WebGIS improves the traditional GIS running mode to popular tools which are able to be widely introduced and applied.Meanwhile,due to the increasing Geo-spatial Data,how to realize the effective management and application of Geo-spatial Data and to help users to gain Geo-spatial Data via Internet draw more and more attention from the relevant researchers.The exploration of the WebGIS system based on Geo-spatial Database is quite significant.This thesis tries to develop a geographic information system of typhoon with the technology of Geo-spatial Database and WebGIS.This thesis firstly makes an introduction of Geo-spatial Database technology and WebGIS technology.Then the thesis,based on the thorough analysis of WebGIS, SQL,Geodatabase mode and the application of Web Map Service as well as improving the quality of spatial database,deals with the establishment of the logistically and physically seamless Geo-spatial Database,in accordance with the requirement of standardization and regularization.The designed Geo-spatial Database uses the SQL to store the data,and the combination of Geo-spatial engine ArcSDE and desktop client software ArcCatalog to store and manage the special data.In the last part of the thesis,the typhoon system based on WebGIS is built up.This system can provide the search for typhoon information,basic operation of the map and relevant business management.This research starts from the need of typhoon prevention,designs the Typhoon Geographic Information System and realized the special data display,inquiry, analysis and management in the B/S environment,which accomplishes the real-time publishing of typhoon forecast.It can provide the meteorologist and common users with the current typhoon trend and history,which helps people to take necessary measures to make precautions.This system offers a series of effective solution to the typhoon forecast and management,as well as scientific reference for the resolution of relevant departments.
