This dissertation is disquisition on 3-dimensional foundry technics CAD system. The research object of the 3-dimensional foundry technics CAD system is foundry iron (gray cast iron and ductile cast iron). We combine the theory of foundry, such as technological standards of foundry, riser system design, gating design and computer, applying computer technology into the area of design, analysis and research of foundry techniques. Combining CAD and foundry techniques, we construct a foundry techincs design parameter library, riser system design CAD subsystem, gating design CAD subsystem with the second development system (ObjectARX2000 and Visual C++6.0) base on AutoCAD2000 as the platform. The designing level of foundry technics is improved, R&D period is shorted, and the productivity is highly improved.The foundry technics CAD system is a 3-dimensional foundry technics CAD system that combines 3-dimensional model and foundry technics. It has much superiority than planar system. Such as complete geometry information, expediently calculating of the volume and area of foundry, easily joining foundry technics CAE system, realization of sharing data, intuitionistic result of design and expediently making planar design etc. The 3-dimensional foundry technics CAD system is becoming a main system of the foundry technics CAD system. Development of the system is realistically significance to apply computer to foundry production, to insure foundry quality and to improve the productivity.Because AutoCAD is used abroad in our country now, Spread, application and mastery of the system that we developed is easy very much. It can accelerate application of 3-dimensional foundry technics CAD system abroad. On the other hand, the second development system of AutoCAD is so very stronger that we can develop the system on shorter period, and reduce cost of development of the system.
