Recently, the PC as well as its peripheral equipment has been fully developed. For the mature technology and rich software resource, it has been a new technology in the construction of NC system to employ PC resource, integrate its function with CNC and develop NC system based on PC. At the same time, the opening technology of NC system has been an important developing direction. The former NC systems can't fully utilize the new computer technology and the NC technology development was severely blocked because of its closing. The inner detail in closing NC system is unknown to user, so it is difficult to add new control strategy and extend its function basing on the original system. In order to orienting to the need of developing modern technology, the future CNC should be the one that can be reset, modified, extended and refit without resetting hardware and software. The most effective reproach to meet such requirement is to realize its opening. This article presents a sort of economical and opening line-cutting CNC system based on PC, realizing method and key technology, develops step motor axis card and blending step motor driver based on l297/l298 Chip. The system not only makes use of module hardware system including industrial PC and control board and also is opening. At the same time, the NC system software based on Windows operating system is developed. The software has friendly interface and opening structure, also presents most of functions to user for convenient further development. The control system make use of the advantage of C++ which is suitable to visit hardware, and package many control function into DLL, so realizes the opening and makes user convenient to control and further development.
