Carbon dioxide (CO2) laser engraving machine belongs to the range of incision of laser processing. As a typical product of integration of mechanical electronic and optic technologies, it has great efficiency and speed and high precision. It has also been used widely in print, model making, billboard making etc.The control system of laser engraving machine based on PC parallel port uses the character of input and output of PC parallel port as the basis of hardware. The software is programmed in Visual C++ 6.0 embedded with masm32. WENTAI creates files of the way to the. laser head and the data of the interpolation are given after treatment again. And then the program of interpolation of half deviation-best geometrical way by masm32 realizes the control of the step motors in X, Y and the power of laser. On the basis of these, the machine is able to work.In the foundation of research on the development situation and trend of laser engraving machine, the whole scheme of the control system of stand-alone of laser engraving machine is established and the process of research and manufacturing of the machine is completed by the hardware and software. The machine made can accomplish the mode of scanning, route working, bitmap working. The process of working is steady and reliable and the effective is good.
