Development Of The System Of Design Three-Dim Mold Base And Auto-Drawing Mold Parts

Through the comprehensive studying on the injection mold design, a frame for developing a three-dimensional CAD system for injection mold is experimented on the basis of existing software for computers, and a system of mold base design and mold base parts drafts auto-drawing (MBCAD) is established. In order to select a suitable mold base for given articles, a calculation of checking method is used. And a principle of the similitude design is used to devise an off-standard mold base. The adoption of ODBC technique realizes to interchange data of Access and of AutoCAD. A special database management system is developed to manage the standard mold base data as well as standard parts data. Based on three-Dim parts graph; and parameter driven, mold base drafts can be auto-drawn.On the whole, there are four main functions in this system: First, a standard mold base can be auto-selected by inputting corresponding parameters, so users can accomplish the designing without any calculation relying on the interface wizard. Second, for some reasons, there isn't any suitable standard mould base for some special articles. The system will devise off-standard mold base to meet the need of these articles. Third, the customer can increase the application of the MBCAD by constructing databases to meet customers' the request. Fourth, the system can complete mold base three-Dim drafts.Theories research listed above and the MBCAD system will provide the foundations for a perfect three-Dim injection CAD system.
