The flame-retardant agents used for cellulose material are usually composed of organic compound and inorganic compound, inorganic compound is widely utilized and accounts for 60 percent of total agents due to its effective .accessible and cheap property .but its non-durable property and absorption limits its further use in the textile field. So far, THPS ,THPOH-NH3(based on THPC)and Pyrovatex CP (produced by ciba company )have dominated the world market .the former is gradually abandoned because cancer-inducing materials and toxic gases are formed during the course of processing ,the latter has a N-hydroxymethyl constructure and will consequently release formaldehyde, which contradicts to the environmental protection law .in this respect, the International Textile Ecology Study and Detection Association has established Oeko-Tex100 standard to limit the maximum release of free Formaldehyde. China also publicized compulsive standard GB 18401 aiming at solving such situation. So the development of green flame-retardant faces emergent situation.Based on numerous references, we developed a new P-containing flame retardant agent, after careful and endless experiment, finally we find out the influence of reaction temperature, the pH value, and the molar ratio on the yield of product. Meanwhile, we utilized our product directly onto cellulose fiber without further purification, during the finishing process, the factors that influence the flame-retardant property including the content of the flame retardant agent, baking temperature and time, pH value are investigated. Thus a practical process and formula comes into being. Weprocess the fiber according to this formula and compare it with CFR-201, and it shows the following results:Compared with CFR-201 ,the new developed agent possesses excellent durable flame retarding property: its indexes of after flame time, afterglow time and damaged length are better or the same with flame retarding merchandise CFR-201, it contains far less formaldehyde than CFR - 201 and owns excellent durable crease inhibiting property, meanwhile, with the help of modern apparatus ,the possible reaction mechanism is also discussed.
