Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a tool which quantitatively analyzes and qualitatively valuates the environmental impact of a product, process or activity throughout its entire life cycle. It can distinguish and quantify this impact through utilization of substances and environmental wastes. The purpose is to valuate environmental impact of these factors and search for a chance to improve. At the present time, all kinds of international social aspects pay attention to the development and application of life cycle assessment. It is expected that LCA will be a technique of environmental management with the most vitality and development future in this century.According to the technical framework of life cycle assessment, this paper first applies it to the field of the products of synthesized polymer biomedical material. A set of life cycle assessment model which is suitable to this kind of products is brought up in this paper and is used to analyze and valuate resource depletion and environment influence in life cycle of fracture internal fixation screw manufactured by Chengdu Dikang biomedical material corp. Ltd, including three parts: goals and scoping, inventory analysis and life cycle impact assessment. In result, two important assessment indices are gotten: resource depletion index and environmental load index. Furthermore, it is identified that photochemical ozone creation is the most important type to environment influence in the product life cycle, gas and coal are the main depletion factors, and the stage of product manufacture is the most useful stage to environmental load and resource depletion in the whole life cycle. All of the research results can be used not only to direct enterprise's production and environmental management but also to provide proof for department of environmental management to decide relative environmental protect rules.
