Aimed at the arc billet casting machine with radius of eight millimeter in Tangshan icon & steel group company, we carry on some researches on the equipments rebuilding of secondary cooling area, techniques of secondary cooling and admeasurement of the secondary cooling water. The following creative work has been completed. First, through the analysis of current continuous casting process, and using the solid heat transfer theory, we discuss the main factors that influence quality of the casting workpiece and speed of the continuous cast, moreover, improve the first equipments of the secondary cooling water supply in the rebuilding process of continuous cast control system.In succession, using modern control techniques and communication techniques, aimed at the potential problems of the control system of secondary cooling water, make up and optimize a numerical model of high efficiency continuous casting.Third, with the help of concentrate and distributing control theory and PLC, we succeed in achieving automatic admeasure cooling water. The parameters of admeasuring cooling water have been saved as prescription in the controller, which can be used without loading from an upper computer.Last, inducting the network, we use the integrated system SCAN3000/S9100e of Honeywell Company to achieve the remote control of the secondary cooling water.The following result has been achieved: speed up the casting, low down the accident rate, equipments running with high efficiency. At last provide a good base to obtain the target of "lower cost while high output".
