This paper made a theoretical study of the problem about keeping fixed number of cocoons and matching those cocoons according some codes in the reeling process, and the theoretical study is made from four aspects, i.e. the distribution of the cycle-length of cocoon filament, the continuous property of raw silk size, the distribution of the cocoon number of different cocoon layers in silk filament, the eigenvalue of cocoon size. Thereby this paper proved the approximate normal distribution of the cycle-length of cocoon filament, and gave the mathematical expression of the autocorrelation coefficient with lengthen of the cycle-length of cocoon filament and the range of the cocoon size as the independent variable. By the establishment of the probability model, the paper also deduced the distribution of the cocoon number of different cocoon layers, and also by mathematical deduction, we got the expression of the eigenvalue of raw silk size. Based on these theoretical results, we could find out the effect of the eigenvalue of cocoon size on the autocorrelation coefficient which directly indicated the continuous property of filament size, the effect of the eignevalue of cocoon material and the situation of the cocoon matching on the deviation of the filament size. Thus the paper afforded theories that could guide the size management in the production of the cocoon filament, as well as intelligentizing management of cocoon filament manufacture engineering and the exploitation of correlated software.
