Research And Design Of HMI And PLC In The Control System Of The 20 Rolls Reversing Cold Mill

The man-machine interface (the brief name HMI) and programmable logic controller ( the brief name PLC) are applied very extensive in the metallurgy profession, can complete the processing, manifestation, saving and management of the data and logic control, analog signals control, and communication etc. It have many good qualities, such as install vivid, the program is simple, the security is high advantage. This article research is in the control system of the 20 rolls reversing cold mill, application of HMI and PLC.The article introduced development of steel cold rolling in the metallurgy field first, then introduced the control object 20 rolls reversing cold mill, the structure characteristics, craft characteristic ,and control request. From the angle of the control strategy analyzed the characteristics of the three greatest controls system ( namely PLC, DCS and FCS) in the industry control currently and application. Then analyzed and generalized to the characteristics of this system. Introduced the hardware first for this system, the CPU used the model number of ControlLogix5555 of the company of AB, substation is the template of ET-200M of Siemens. Introduced the structure function of HMI software on computer .Because 20 rolls reversing cold mill has huge structure , complicated craft, high control accuracy etc. characteristics, the HMI and PLC-control system designed accordingly, based on the craft request, making the operation possibly convenient. Among them involve to allow many functions realization, such as alarm, report , automatic control, the linkage control, add and subtract speed compensates etc. The functions all need the HMI and PLC whole realizations.This article researched the whole control and functions of the system, analyzing the control characteristics of the system.
