The forming of steel ball by longitudinal rolling is a new technology to processed steel ball-billet.The technology has some new characteristics.For exemple,it can realize progressive forming.Its production coefficient is higher than the heading .And it can adapt to more kinds of products . The workpiece does not rotate round its axis.There is not manning's effect .The quality is better at the core of the steel ball. So it is significant both in theory and in practice to further study the deformation mechanism of steel ball by longitudinal rolling in the deformation process. This study is base on the research of former people,Making use of the finite element simulation and experiment,the writer further studies the law of the forming of steel ball by different longitudinal rolling and discloses the new deformation mechanism of steel ball by longitudinal rolling and,on the theory, brings forward the ground rule of the die rolled section continual rolling . The article priority researches the backward slip existing at the shaping groove in the forming of the steel ball by circle section rolling and demonstrate the existence of the backward slip and its influencing factor . Base on the continual rolling rule ,the adjusting rule of the circular pitch synchronism and the phase synchronism in the continual rolling is researched .The paper furher studies on the forming rule of the core of the metal in the ellipse-ball forming process and bring out a technique wich use the pushing force to restrain the backward slip ; Against the scrape in the forming of steel ball by longitudinal rolling ,the paper demonstrate the resolved method. The laboratory of the two kinds of longitudinal rolling forming is introduced at the end of the paper. And the experiment was carry out on the special machine . We use some kinds of data in the experiment . It is prove that The forming of steel ball by longitudinal rolling is feasible and the correctness of the simulation result. And certificate that the existence of the backward slip and the scrape at the shaping groove is objective ,and the function of the negative tensile force between the two roll.
