With the improvement of the living standard, the mankind has more and more high expectations for comfortableness of the clothing. It is an illustration that fabrics adopting elastic fibres, such as spandex, high-elastic nylon, etc. have been well received by consumers in recent years. Due to its molecular structure of spiral type, PTT, as one new textile material, has good performances of elongation and elasticity recovery. So it can be used for developing the fabric with fine elasticity . A lot of enterprises have tried out PTT, but the products tried with little elasticity or bad feel or something else can not meet the demands of consumers, which is mainly for that they are not enough to be familiar with the performance of PTT.In order to develop high quality products of PTT, this paper includes the content of the following aspects in system research on the basis of the former development:1 Heat shrinkage rate of PTT and PBT(DTY) at different temperatures are tested and compared. The differences are analyzed in three respects of temperature, crystallinity and orientation. Then properties including repeated stretch and elasticity recovery of these two kinds of filaments through processing at 100℃ are tested and examined.2 Firstly, study on the factors affecting the elasticity of fabrics made by PTT and staple yarn is developed. The critical parameters are proposed and approved by 8 kinds of woven fabrics. In the second part of this chapter, the elasticity of fabrics made by PTT and other filaments is discussed through 2 kinds of PTT fabrics woven in the mill and 3 pieces of PTT products made by Dupont and Dongli. The single-element method is used to find the main factors that influence the elasticity of PTT fabrics. Finally the experiment results are analyzed and the difference between these two fabrics are found.3 As for 3 kinds of PTT fabrics with yarns obviously, little and no slippery, their interwoven forces are tested and analyzed respectively by single-element method and step-regression method.
