Study And Development On Configurable DNC Data Acquisition System

Data acquisition is an important function of DNC (Distributed Numerical Control)system. With the rapid development of manufacturing automation, the requirementsof collecting manufacturing information automatically become more and moreintense for enterprises. It will be very meaningful to study and develop an advanceddata acquisition system for DNC system. Because effective data acquisition systemcan not only help the enterprise utilize the potential of their DNC system, make thebest use of the available resource, but also help the enterprise to get well informed ofthe working conditions in the first time, improve the reaction speed and make wiserdecisions. On the whole, it will improve the productivity, competition and economicbenefits of the enterprise, and speed up the automation process as a result. At first, this paper presents the current development and trends of DNC and DNCdata acquisition system. Then, it analyzes how to develop better data acquisitionsystem under the influence of advanced manufacturing technologies and bringforward a new type of DNC data acquisition system based configurationstechnologies. Secondly, it analyzes and summarizes the composition, the functionsand the framework of a configurable DNC data acquisition system. The author givesgreat emphasis on discussing data acquisition methods, communication methods,OPC (Ole for Process Control)-based data acquisition methods and othersystem-integrating methods. On the basis of above analysis, a prototype system ofconfigurable DNC data acquisition was put forward. At last, some suggestions onwhat needs further study about configurable DNC data acquisition system have beenbrought forward.
