With the rapid development of modem computer technology, the advanced technology is used in modern design more widely; such as the application of CAD, CAM, CAE, ECT, computer aided design. These modern design method not only raises the design speed, but also make products design by these methods more reliable; And its appearance is more beautiful. It can save a lot of human and physical sources, thus the competitive of the products is increased. However, only a few companies in our country use this advanced design method. In order to shorten the distance of advanced technology between our and foreign country, these modern design methods should be applied in various fields. Aiming at the fast development of Numerical Control Machines, use method of originality innovation to invent a new kind power chuck adapting to them.Power chuck is an important accessory in machine tool. Using design theory of creativity in design methods decides the optimal design scheme. The working load is increased when spindle speed of machine tool is improved. The moving parts and the high load bearing parts such as the sliding axial are the critical component of the machine. They function as transfer fluid or air power and finish clamping or unclamping process and its strength and reliability relates to the normal operation of the power chuck directly. So it is necessary to run structural analysis and optimum design for them.Its structure design and analysis and strength check are still used traditional methods. The loads analysis of each moving part and the application condition of the high pressure component are studied in this thesis, and 3D CAD is used to build up the part of the power chuck and assemble the power chuck. Additional, 3D CAD is used to the interference check for assembly and movement of the power chuck. Finite element method is used to the strength check-up for the power chuck.
