The hazardous waste disposal plant in Chongqing Changshou is the major corollary project in controlling the environmental contamination in Three Gorges Region. It is predicted that it will become a significant conducting site for hazardous waste in Chongqing area, to handle the amount of critical waste accumulative total to a number of 400,000 tons after finished. This will do significance to the environmental improvement in Three Gorges Region as well as the water conservation in reservoir area.The analysis and research in the article is based on the critical technologies which includes the construction scale of the hazardous waste disposal site project, pretreatment and solidification technology for the disposal of the hazardous waste, technology of incineration and clarification for flue gas and the safe landfill site (including the disposal of liquid waste) and so on, evaluates the finance in the item, gains a preferable efficiency for the hazardous waste. The conclusion is significant for guiding the construction of similar projects.Through the plentiful investigation and analysis and consulting relative data, the study focused on the following aspects:(1) Through the investigation and analysis on the source of the waste and the required amount of the hazardous waste disposal plant in Changshou, We fixed on the production scale of this disposal plant, and confirmed the landfill gross about 201,690 tons of safe landfill in 15 years, the actual capacity of reservoir required about 360,000 m3, the design capacity of reservoir 660,000 m3, and the effective age 27 years.(2) According to the different kinds of the hazardous waste, different pretreatment processes were chosen. The pretreatment processes were researched on kinds of hazardous waste such as the highly poisonous, the waste acid and alkali and the heavy metals. The analysis work as solidification process, technology, option comparison, and facilities configuration were stressed.(3) Through the research to the key processes and facilities configuration in the system of incineration and flue gas clarification, the burner was considered as the critical facility, whose design and type selection should be synthetically considered, according to the kinds and numbers of the local waste and also the investment condition. The flue gas clarification system is the essential system in the hazardous waste disposal,which related to the problem of the air secondary pollution.(4) The site selection for the landfill plant is the prerequisite for safety landfill. Through the analysis to the geological condition of the landfill, the structure option of the plant was confirmed. Meanwhile, the designs of the landfill project and processes option of safe landfill were compared, and the plant design, liquid waste disposal and other key factors were deeply discussed.(5) The charge standard of the hazardous waste disposal and amount of entering the arena were the sensitive factors in this project according to the economic analysis and financial evaluation. This project is feasible as a whole.(6) Finally, through the analysis to this case, the critical technology in the hazardous waste disposal and some problems were summarized, as some superficial cognition and experience to the research in this field.
