As the demand for the ultraprecision gears gets more highly, the measuring and precision test for the errors has become the most important part in improving and ensuring gear precison. And the single pitch error fpt and the total cumulative pitch error Fp mostly affect the capability in many aspects, such as the stationarity during gear transmission, the mechanical vibration, the veracity of motion transimitting and so on. The measuring and evaluating for the total cumulative pitch error of the gears with precision class 1 2 play an important role in the ultraprecision gear manufacturing and measuring.The development, application and current research situation about the ultraprecision gear measuring technology have been summarized. Furthermore, the correlative conceptions and measuring technology of gear total cumulative pitch error have been analyzed and compared in detail. The main contents are as follows:1.Design and construction of the total cumulative pitch error measuring device. Furthermore, the accurate unified geometric eccentric was measured, which proved that the installation precision could meet the needs of measuring the ultraprecision gears.2.Analysis and Design of the software for the total cumulative pitch error measuring system. The software adopts the OOD philosophy to realize the exact data acquisition and analysis.3.Analysis and compensation for the errors that influencing the measuring result of the ultraprecision gear total cumulative pitch error. Especially, after the compensation for the total cumulative pitch error that is caused by device unified geometric eccentric, the experiment has been carried out to validate the feasibility and the rationality of the error compensation method.4. As the important scaling standard for the measuring device precision, the combined standard uncertainty and expanded uncertainty of the ultraprecision gear total cumulative pitch error measuring system have been evaluated. Moreover, the measuring example indicated that the measuring system can meet the needs of measuring the ultraprecision gear total cumulative pitch error with precision class 1 2.
