The product of cold roll forming has the advantage of reasonable cross section, higher strength, lighter weight and higher use rate of metal. So it is a bind of economic profiled steel. With the rapid development of economy and continuous increasing of people's living level, the cold roll forming products take splendid application foreground. But forming mechanism has not been studied clearly as far. The main purpose of this paper is to research on forming mechanism. It use FEA (finite element analysis) research the steel sheet extensively on the process of cold roll forming from the mechanical analysis of steel sheet.Firstly, this paper introduced the applyment and features of cold roll forming products, evaluated the development and accomplishment of cold roll forming at the present in china and outside. Then, mechanical theories, FEM analysis and experiment study of cold roll forming were depicted explicitly.Secondly, this paper introduced the mechanical model of steel sheet. And it analysised the deformation, the regulation of strain and stress's variety and return to play the effect of steel sheet in process forming.Again, when the deformational mechanism of cold roll forming was analyzed, interrelated nonlinear theories were introduced and summarized. And applying nonlinear FEM, this paper analyzed simply the process of cold roll forming.Using the software of ANSYS/LS-DYNA, this paper created the model and done the analysis of cold roll forming of simulation. It described many questions and some parameter sets crossed upon when applied the software explicitly. And it simulated the deformation, the regulation of strain and stress' s variety and return to play the effect ofsteel sheet in process forming. Comparisoned the result of return to play the effect by simulation with the result of return to play the effect by actual, it led to the conclusion that the software of ANSYS/LS-DYNA is viable to simulate cold roll forming.Ac last, the paper given the actual experimental project to study the regulation of deforming and the regulation of strain and stress's variety of steel sheet in process of cold roll forming.From above, the conclusions of this paper are as follows: It is practical and feasible to use the software of ANSYS/LS-DYNA simulating the process of cold roll forming. The research of this paper are vital to promote theoretical research and to guide actual production of cold roll forming.
