Vacuum filter sieve, which is made of stainless steel, is an essential component of the Vacuum filter. It has some characteristics. Firstly, its meshes are quite tiny and bestrew densely. Secondly, the sheet metal's capability of being punched is bad. In this paper, on the one hand, we compare several processing methods which may be adopted in producing stainless steel vacuum filter sieve; on the other hand, we consider the existing processing equipment, production cost and technical promotion. Then we determine to adopt stamping method to process the vacuum filter sieve. Based on plenty of researches, we have considered the characteristics of sheet metal stamping and analyzed the distorting process. Finally, we have rationally designed a kind of mould structure and stamping craft.With the development of mould industry, mass of sheet metal forming and efficiency of mould design have been demanded more and more highly, so traditional design methods have not yet been able to meet the demands of industrial development. A simulative method must be acquired, which could help people understand the law of sheet metal forming process and find the best or feasible design method at less expense in shorter time. As a result, the finite element analysis is applied to sheet metal forming.In this paper, the mechanics base of sheet metal forting, basic theory and executable method of elastic-plastic finite element analysis of sheet metal forming are systemically analyzed and summarized. Some factors that affect performance of sheet metal forming are also primarily analyzed and discussed. At last, the main point of this paper is research on influence of clearance of punching mould on performance of sheet metal forming by using ANSYS software.
