| As a result of the increase in vehicular population, the growth in road traffic and the rapid economic growth, air pollution related with traffic exhaust is getting worse in suzhou cities, particularly suffering from serious NOx pollution.we monitored CO, PM10, SO2, NO2 in ambient air near the main road and the mobile car exhausting.The results were summarized as follows:The mobile car of urban work in bad condition, in idle speed about 44.3% of total movement time, in accelerating about 33.0%. the average mobile car speed about 25.9km/h.In 2004, the urban ambient air quantity of Suzhou exceeded the nation second class standard, air pollution index is 2.48, the main pollutant is PM10 and SO2. The pollution shares rate of the nitrogen oxide rise year by year.The traffic pollution seriously, already have the ozone concentration exceeded the national standared. according to the traffic monitoring station, in 2004,the average concentration of SO2 is 0.041 mg/ m3, bellow the second class standard of the national environment air quantity, one-day average concentration of SO2 range from 0.010to0.074 mg/ m3. the average concentration of NO2 is 0.078 mg/ m3, close the second class standard of the national environment air quantity, one-day average concentration of NO2 range from 0.020to0.185 mg/ m3.The ratio of one-day average concentration of NO2 exceeding the second class standard is 3.1%.the average concentration of PM10 is 0.136 mg/ m , exceeding the second class standard of the national environment air quantity, one-day average concentration of PM10 range from 0.019 to 0.364 mg/m3.The ratio of one-day average concentration of PM10 exceeding the second class standard is 18.5%.
