Polyurethane foam is one of wide application foams now. As structural material, it's short of the needs for using in many special conditions because of its inferior mechanical strength. So it's a hot attention focused on the study of reinforced PU foam.By reading lots of literatures, this paper uses isocyanate and polyether polyol as stuff to prepare PU foam via special foaming technics in one-step. This study firstly adds different content and different type of glass fiber or microsphere as reinforced materials to prepare different reinforced foam. The mechanical properties of the RPUF samples are then tested and the failure mechanisms of RFPU filled by different fillers are discussed. Photograph microscope and SEM are used to observe the morphologies of the samples at each compression-deformation stage, the effect of different fillers on the foam structures is reviewed and then the reinforcing mechanism is put forward. The main conclusions list below:1. Using revolving viscidity meter to test the viscidities with different fillers in polyether polyol, the results fix the directions for producing PU foam. It's found that the material's density and thermal conductivity are enhanced with adding the fillers. But the effects are different with different length and content glass fibers and different type and diameter microsphere.2. The effects of the different fillers are studied. The result shows that compression strength increased with glass fiber content at first and decreased as glass fiber content continued to increase. But it's found that both compression strength and compression modul increased with different microspheres. When the microsphere's diameter in the scope of 50μm to 100μm, the effect of reinforcement is best.3. The effect of different fillers on the compression behavior of RPUF has been...
