With the developmental demand of new technology and enterprise pattern, contradictions between modern times enterprise's manufacture demand and imperfection of presently assembly technology are more and more obviously. It is the key factor to resolve the contradictions that realize the virtual assembly design of product in computer, therefore, the development of assembly system based on virtual reality is appearance with circumstance. At present, there is very wide research in the virtual assembly, but most of them is not enough in accuracy and efficiency. Owing to this aspect of deficiency, the paper presents the virtual assembly algorithm and assembly evaluating algorithm and its implement.The implement of algorithm is a virtual assembly system which developed by the combination of Visual c++ compile program tool and OpenGL library function, the system part assembly models are created by the third software (PRO/E) and compile the *.stl format soft interface to complete the model import/export function .It implements the assembly control plate by compiling the assembly algorithm program code and creats the assembly evaluate mechanism by the compiling the assembly evaluate algorithm . The system is composed of grid module, man-computer interaction module , assembly evaluate module , model feature module and tracing detecting module except virtual assembly module and import/export module .The system takes a virtual gear wheel pump virtual assembly as an example , normally completed the part model assembly in system , Validated the effectiveness of virtual assembly algorithm based on coordinates and vector, processing syntheses detection and real time detection to the assembly result by the assembly evaluate mechanism . Through the medium of system information prompt could convenience immediatly display different kinds of attribute and performance. System depended on Visual c++ function of DLL realizing usual function intergration and through calling the OpenGL libray realizing man-computer interaction, gridding, model attribute function, expriment demonstrate the system has a good effect.
