Identification and grade is the basic work of developing supervision for major hazard installations. "Identification of major hazard installations "(GB18218-2000) has played an important role in the identification and supervision, but with the develop of industry, it has revealed some shortages, at the same time, the standard of grading has not been established now, the technolodies of grading for hazard present needs improving. So development deeply of indentificating and supervision have been influenced by these problems above.On the basic of analysis for the shortages existing in "Identifecation of major hazard installations "(GB18218-2000) and hazard grading and supervision, not only new definition and some classified suggestions are put forward, but also the foundations of indentification and hazard grading of major hazard installations are set forth in this paper; equivalent methods and there Rationalities are provided and analysed for the threhold quanlity of chemical substance in the work site and store area. At the same time, on the basic viewpoint that hazard grade is confirmed by practical hazard of major hazard installations, and by improving hazard degree method of chemical factory, hazard grading method of hazard degree in the chemical factory for the major hazard installations is put forward. some supervision suggestions are given for major hazard installations by analyzing questions existing in the administration field at present.The examples show: It is not only scientific and rational approximately, but also as referenced calculational methods of threshold quanlity of increased or emendatory chemical substance in the "Identifecation of major hazard installations "(GB18218-2000) in the future, that appliance respective of TNT equivalent method, gasoline equivalent method, methane equivalent method, methl ethyl ketone peroxide equivalent method and hydrogen sulfide equivalent method for the rhrehold quanlity in the work site and store area of volatile substance, combustible liquid substance, combustible gaseous substance, active chemical substance and poisonous substance. At the same time, Comparing with the death radius method and evaluative method of combustible, volatile, poisonous mojor hazardinstalltions, hazard grading method of hazard degree grading in the chemical factory for the major hazard installations is simplerof operation and more practical of calcutating result, and have some significance on generalizer.
