In recent years, super-precision machine tools and NC machine tools require more and more precision and efficiency at home and abroad. Therefore, requires continuously improve the guide-ways of the bed. Good and bad of the property of the machine tools guide-ways would directly affect the machining precision, load capacity and using life. The inlaying steel guide-ways have good wear resistant and could improve the friction feature, and applying more and more in machining center and numerical control machine tools. The inlaying steel guide-ways could be obtained by grinding the quenched carbon steels and alloy steels. Grinding is the key process. Because smaller sectional area, longer length, asymmetric shape and so on, it has more difficult, more unstable quality. By analysis the influence factor of the grinding quality, we could choose the reasonable technique parameter to improve the grinding quality of the inlaying steel guide-ways.The grinding quality of the inlaying steel guide-ways refers to the machining surface quality, the sized precision and the shape precision of inlaying steel guide-ways. The paper had analysis and research from theory and experiment.By using the orthogonal experiment, we analysis the influence of grinding data on the surface finish, surface burned, surface residual stress. Experimental study indicated, variation of the grinding wheel texture have minor influence on the surface finish.we can change the grinding wheel texture, hardness, and histological structure analysis grinding burned to improve the parameter of the grinding wheel to choose the grinding data properly, to optimize the process parameter, to choose the suitable grinding fluid to decrease the burned and improve the grinding efficiency; lower stress grinding can decrease the grinding heat, arranged the process and the parameter to decrease the residual stress; by controlling the heat distortion of the grinding machine tools and the work-piece during grinding, to decrease the influence of the grinding heat on the sized precision, to increase the failure treatment process, eliminate the residual stress of the guide-ways, by improving the precision of the heat emendation, to decrease the grinding data and grasp the proper grinding ways to assure the grinding precision.
