An Empirical Research On The Relation Between Environmental Quality And Economic Growth In Xinjiang

Economy and enviroment are two important systems to maintain the existence and development of human beings. On the one hand,economic activities are bound to happen in a certain environment. It will undoubtedly result in some changes in environment. On the other hand,economic development I based on the quality of the environmental condition. At the same time the sustainable development strategy is reaching into people's mind. Therefore, it is significant to study the relationship between economic development and environmental protection, and then to seek for the ways to harmonize the economic development with the balance of natrue. This paper has been written to study the ecosystem and economic developoment in Xinjiang at present and the development tendency in the near future. It is based on some accurate surveys and systematic analyses.This paper starts with empirically analyzing the relationship between environmental quality and economic growth by means of econometric model and on basis of historical data in Xinjiang to find out the medium and long-term trend of environmental quality and explain it in aspect of economics. Then ,it directionally and quantitatively studics how such factors as industry structure, population and foreign trade make influences on environmental quality, leading to deviate from the fit curve and short-term partial fluctuation, as well as how these factors influence the medium and long-term trend of environmental quality with economic growth in a long run.
