Investigations On The Simulation Of The NC Belt Polishing Process

The belt polishing finds wider and wider applications in the finishing machining of various vanes because of its high machining quality and high machining efficiency. Aiming at several disadvantages of manual belt polishing vanes such as scarcity of low precision and production, this thesis put forward the viewpoint of NC belt polishing instead of manual belt polishing and doing research of NC belt polishing simulation before designing NC belt polishing machine. Aiming at several disadvantages of the NC machining simulation such as scarcity of universal and practicability, unable optimize the tool path and detect the virtual products, the simulation of the belt polishing NC machining is researched with VERICUT System which is mature abroad as the technical platform. The simulation of the NC belt polishing process is able to validate NC code and simulate machine movement interference.This thesis includes the following sub-topics:1. The history and current situation of NC machining simulation is researched systematically.2. The requirement and function analysis of NC machining simulation system is discussed deeply, and three solutions are put forward. After that, the most suitable one is selected. And much effort is taken to research and introduce that system in order to apply later.3. With VERICUT system as the technical platform, the belt polishing NC machining simulation is researched systematically. The virtual model of the belt polishing NC machine is built. Aiming to manufacture the vane of one kind of engine, built the virtual vane model, program NC code and simulate the process of manufacturing the vane. After that, the visual products are inspected basically, analyze the cause of machining error and introduce the principle of the tool path generation of NC machining.
