Worsted fabric has excellent wearing property, but it always has poor resistance to bacteria, so fiber itself and human health are damaged. Development of chitosan anti-bacterial worsted woolen cloth is provided with infinite social meaning and economic benefit.Our group treated Worsted woolen cloth with chitosan and citric acid by pad-dry-cure technology, final products have considerable antibacterial property, but its launderability is not ideal. In this paper, low-temperature plasma technology, an environmental protection, energy saving dry processing method is entranced on the base of earlier study. By abundance experiments, we analysis the effect of time, power and pressure of plasma to fabrics'property, choose parameters which are acceptable for chitosan anti-bacterial finishing, and also optimize the intrinsic finishing process.Processing parameter of plasma pretreatment: O2, 2min, 100W, 25Pa; the optimized treatment condition: citric acid concentration is 0.6%, chitosan concentration is 0.25%, SHP is 1%, ACN dosage is 18g/L, MEJ dosage is 5g/L. Treatment techniques: procuring temperature and time is 80℃×5min, curing temperature and time is 110℃×2min. The plasma pretreatment of anti-bacterial worsted woolen cloth made the crease recovery angle, breaking strength and wick ability further increasing, the drape coefficients increasing slightly, the whiteness dropping slightly, and the compliance becoming worse. As a whole, the plasma pretreatment didn't have great impact to the wearing property of anti-bacterial worsted woolen cloth.FT-IR spectrum shows that oxygen groups are introduced to the surface of wool by plasma treatment, resulting in the increase of C-O bond. SEM analysis shows that the adsorption of chitosan in worsted fabrics is increased with plasma pretreatment. Then, chitosan is combined with wool by the citric acid bridge more firmly.Test antibacterial property of treated wool fabric using the Shake Flask standard, the result shows that plasma pretreatment improves the launderability of treated wool fabric, the antibacterial rate after 20 times washing is more than 75%. The technology this paper adopted has universality. It supplies foundation and ground for the future industrialized manufacturing.
