Study On Measurement And Distribution Pattern Of Twist For SlubYarn

A method to measure twist angle of basic yarn and slub individually for slub yarn is introduced in this paper. The distribution regular pattern of slub yarn and slub yarn's parameter especially twist's influence on strength are also analyzed.By using traditional measurement to gauge twist of slub yarn, we can only get a average result but not the individual one. We could get the twist angle firstly, than convert it into twist with the special formula. It's difficult to measure the twist angle directly; the indirect way is more suitable. In this method, the magnified images which can show fibers'trend on the surface of yarns are collected at first, than the twist angles of slub yarns could be measured by a specialized instrument. In order to get distinct images which have visual fibers'trend on vertical yarns, we usually magnify the yarns by 250-300 times to gather the images of basic yarns; by 120-200 times to gather the images of slubs.There are 40 kinds of different slub yarns adopted in the experiment to analyze distribution regular pattern of twist for basic yarns and slubs and the affection on twist by slub yarns'parameter. These kinds are delivered into 5 aspects which contain slub multiple, slub length, slub space, the proportion of slub length to circulated length with the circulated length is not changed, the ratio between slub length and slub space.The same consultation for parameter of slub yarn is used in the strength test, focusing on the influence of twist on strength.Slub length, slub space, slub multiple are slub yarn'fundamental parameter. They decide the distribution of twist, and this distribution has important influence on strength.
