Currently, face support is the important issues centered on coal production safety, quality and efficiency in China. The developing tread of high-yield and high-efficiency top foreign mining face is heavy equipment and large face. Many of our large coal energy corporation is currently developing super fully mechanized coal face, which demands increasingly on the hydraulic support with high performance. This paper seeks to analyze and design the hydraulic support based on digital prototyping technology to improve the designing and analytical tools, and enhance design efficiency and quality.It described the status quo and development trends of the hydraulic support and digital prototyping technology, and demonstrates the necessity and feasibility that uses the digital prototyping technology to analyze and design hydraulic support. Based on the geological conditions and scheduled production capacity in Sun Jiacha coal Co., Firstly we put our eyes on the selection of hydraulic support, overall structure, main parameters, and the analysis of its process. Secondly in examining the hydraulic support (ZY8700/17/32) equipment movement,the device 3D model is constructed on CATIA software, and a virtual prototype of hydraulic supports is established after virtual assembly. It verifies the establishment of the virtual prototype is correct by 3D visualization of dynamic simulation, interference checking and kinematics analysis. Furthermore, the 3D solid model is put into the ADAMS for multi-body kinematics and dynamics analysis, which provides a known effective method for the design and research. The conclusion drawn by the right guidance devices physical prototype testing and performance evaluation has great reference value for hydraulic support and other complex mechanical equipment. As the hydraulic support virtual prototyping research is a long-term, complicated and arduous and painstaking work, this research is only on its exploratory research.
